\nThe\u00a0Key Purpose\u00a0of this role is to provide support to operational and line management to ensure the functioning of a comprehensive and professional Occupational Health and Safety System. Ensuring compliance to Safety & Environment systems, standards and work practices to achieve targets set for the VPO Safety and Environment Pillars (means) in order to achieve Safety & Environment KPI\u2019s\/PI\u2019s (results).

\nKey outputs and responsibilities<\/p>\n
Ensuring compliance to the applicable Occupational Health & Safety and Environmental legislation\u2022 Ensure Safety, Healthy & Environmental legislation compliance
\nMaintains a safe work environment
\nTo monitor and advise on the implementation of the VPO Safety and Environment Pillars in the plant and associated wet depot \/ warehouse\u2022 Ensure that the requirements of all Blocks of the Safety and Environment Pillars are implemented
\nPerforms Safety and Environment monitoring and audits
\nEnsure workplace hazards are identified and communicated to all staff\u2022 Performs Risk assessments as per the VPO Standards
\nEnsures all employees are aware of all work hazards & all control measures
\nEnsures Safety Incidents and observations are identified, reported and closed.
\nEnsures Environment Incidents and observations are identified, reported and closed
\nTrack leading Safety and Environment KPI\u2019s and support interventions to improve
\nEnsures all Safety and Environment Incidents and Observations are captured in Credit360
\nEnsures optimum use of Safety App. to raise Safety Incidents and Observations
\nPerforms Loss and waste analysis on Safety Incident and Observations.
\nDevelops an action plan to close SIO\u2019s based on priority
\nPerforms Safety and Environmental monitoring using the supervisor checklists
\nPromote awareness of occupational safety and environmental awareness through the VPO Safety and Environment programme
\nLeads, organises and participates in World Safety Day\/Week activities
\nLeads, organises and participates in World Environment Day and world water day
\nShares relevant Safety and Environment alerts with operational teams
\nUses dashboards to drive improvement in Safety and Environment performance
\nConduct investigations into incidents together with line managers identifying root cause and proposing both corrective and preventative actions\u2022 Identified Root causes and agree systemic loop closure action plans
\nMaintains updated records of all incidents in Credit 360
\nDevelops and shares safety Alerts
\nEnsure induction of both employees and contractors take place in accordance with standards\u2022 New employee, service providers and Contractor Safety training and awareness.
\nEnsure the safe execution of capex projects and support safe work practices where required\u2022 Safety during project execution
\nDrive closure of investigations, safety and environment gaps and legal compliance in the plant\u2022 Continuous improvement in Safety and Environment performance
\nReduction\/elimination of safety incidents and injuries
\nReduction\/elimination of environment incidents
\nEnsure the site is adequately secured and the contracted security provider complies with standards\u2022 Prevention of damage or loss of assets
\nContractors and service providers safety management
\nIdentify safety, environment and legal training needs, conduct training, arrange, permit\/license application and co-ordinate where required\u2022 Improve employees Safety Pillar Knowledge
\nImprove employees Environment Pillar Knowledge
\nMandatory training provided to all employees as per VPO Safety and Environment Pillars
\nDevelop and maintain documentation such as SOP\u2019s, as well as maintenance of manuals, policies and procedures as related to safety and environment\u2022 Safety systems maintained

\nMinimum Requirements<\/p>\n
Min \u2013Degree\/Diploma, BSc\/Btech
\nNational Diploma: Safety Management; *NEBOSH; Safety, Health and Environment lead auditors training.
\nIncident Investigation Course \u2013 Accredited Institute
\nInternal Auditing Course
\nAccredited Institute Formal Risk Identification and Assessment
\nUnderstanding of ABInBev Safety, Health & Environmental Management Systems (VPO) NEBOSH qualification will be an added advantage
\nCertifcate of Competency in Safety Healty and Environment from an accredited institution
\nPossess qualification in Safety Legal compliance
\n2-3 Years in a Safety and\/or Environment related position.<\/p>\n
