Job Summary
\n\u00b7 Oversee and coordinate efficient production of high-quality clinker and cement at the plant
\nto generate optimal revenue for DCP.
\n\u00b7 Ensure production at optimal plant capacity at all times.
\n\u00a0
\nKey Duties and Responsibilities
\n\u00b7 Participate in the development and articulation of production strategy for DCP.
\n\u00b7 Create and manage the plant\u2019s production plan, capacity plan and materials requirements
\nplan in line with DCP\u2019s strategic intent.
\n\u00b7 Oversee the implementation of the approved production plan at the plant to ensure
\nestablished targets are met.
\n\u00b7 Ensure the production processes are implemented in line with agreed upon Safety &
\nEnvironmental procedures and guidelines.
\n\u00b7 Demonstrate ownership of and communicate the unit\u2019s strategic direction and objectives to
\nall Production staff.
\n\u00b7 Prepare annual production budgets based on relevant considerations including market forces
\nand ensure achievement of planned budgets through optimization of resources.
\n\u00b7 Coordinate and manage the production team to achieve daily production lines for the
\npurpose of maintenance.
\n\u00b7 Oversee the execution of cement kiln linings repairs, raw and cement mill operations and
\ncement packaging system.
\n\u00b7 Keep abreast with new developments in cement productions and good practices and make
\nrecommendation for improvement to the Plant Director.
\n\u00b7 Supervise the implementation of approved recommendations.
\n\u00b7 Coordinate with other units of the production, mines and maintenance department as
\nrequired to meet production requirements.
\n\u00b7 Provide overall guidance, leadership and strategic direction to the Production team.
\n\u00b7 Prepare and provide production reports and information to management to aid decision
\nmaking.
\n\u00b7 Monitor and control consumption trend of refractory, grinding media, grinding aid and their
\nInventory levels.
\n\u00b7 Conduct downtime analysis and preventative measures for future development
\nand offer
\nrecommendations for improvement in processes based on test results.
\n\u00b7 Carry out detailed analysis of key process trends, developments, and changes in equipment
\nperformance behaviors in Dangote Cement Plant production processes.
\n\u00b7 Achieving optimum fuel efficiency, power consumption and utilization of manpower.
\n\u00b7 Assessing performance of subordinates and providing necessary feedback to Human\u00a0Resources Department
\nGeneration of Training needs for subordinates and providing necessary feedback for their
\ndevelopment to Human Resources Department.
\n\u00b7 Liaise with regulators, external auditors, affiliates and outsourced service providers.
\n\u00b7 Assign detailed responsibilities to subordinate and supervise them to ensure timely delivery
\nof high-quality results.
\n\u00b7 Encourage teams to evaluate current procedures critically for efficacy, quality, and
\nsimplification to execute process improvements to boost operational effectiveness.
\n\u00b7 Offer training sessions for new procedures as required.
\n\u00b7 Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the Plant Director.

\nKey Requirements
\nEducation and Work Experience
\n\u00b7 Graduate\/ Post- Graduate in Chemical Engineering\/Production Management
\n\u00b7 Member of Engineering Institution\/body (Professional Engineer).
\n\u00b7 Experience in a Cement Manufacturing environment in modern large plants.
\n\u00b7 15-20 years\u2019 progressive work experience in cement\/process industry of which five (5)
\nyears should be at Production Manager Level in a cement Plant.
\nSkills and Competencies
\n1. Professional and technical competencies:
\n\u00b7 In-depth knowledge of cement production processes
\n\u00b7 Strong knowledge of the cement industry (local and international) including the
\ntrends, challenges, opportunities, regulations and legislation relating to the
\ncement manufacturing industry
\n\u00b7 Strong knowledge of production quality parameters and quality control
\n\u00b7 Good knowledge of cement manufacturing equipment\u2019s and quality control
\n\u00b7 Understanding of corporate governance principles.
\n\u00b7 Familiarity with fraud risk indicators and investigation techniques
\nGood knowledge of Enterprise Resource Packages such as SAP
\n\u00a0
