Steinweg Bridge Zambia Limited is seeking a dynamic and results-driven\u00a0Imports &amp; Airfreight Manager\u00a0to oversee the operational and commercial aspects of import cargo, including both air and ocean freight. The role will focus on improving the company\u2019s market position, identifying opportunities within the freight sector, strengthening client relationships, and driving revenue growth.<br \/>\nKey Responsibilities<br \/>\nOperations &amp; Commercial Management<\/p>\n<p>Oversee the operational and commercial performance of the imports department covering both air and ocean cargo.<br \/>\nEnsure the branch achieves monthly capacity and revenue targets.<br \/>\nMaintain up-to-date knowledge of group products and services.<br \/>\nInitiate and implement strategic planning for the department.<br \/>\nWork closely with the Branch Manager and Regional Vertical Heads to meet group objectives.<br \/>\nBuild and maintain strong relationships with existing clients to support retention.<br \/>\nGather and analyse market intelligence to identify new opportunities.<br \/>\nIntroduce new products and services while strengthening existing client relationships.<br \/>\nConduct background research on prospective clients and markets.<\/p>\n<p>Business Development<\/p>\n<p>Identify and pursue potential new clients to generate business growth.<br \/>\nBuild and maintain a strong pipeline through networking and prospecting.<br \/>\nDevelop and maintain relationships with decision-makers within client organizations.<br \/>\nArrange and participate in meetings with potential clients and company leadership.<br \/>\nPrepare proposals and present tailored solutions that address client needs.<br \/>\nParticipate in service pricing and negotiations with clients.<br \/>\nHandle objections and negotiate effectively to achieve positive outcomes.<br \/>\nRepresent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking platforms.<br \/>\nIdentify market trends and recommend new services, products, or distribution channels.<br \/>\nDevelop and promote the company\u2019s unique value propositions in the market.<\/p>\n<p>Management &amp; Reporting<\/p>\n<p>Submit accurate monthly progress and performance reports.<br \/>\nForecast sales targets and implement strategies to achieve them.<br \/>\nTrack business development activities and support the closing of deals.<br \/>\nWork with internal teams to ensure compliance with vendor requirements and prequalification processes.<br \/>\nDevelop a strong understanding of company capabilities and align activities with organizational goals.<br \/>\nWork closely with staff and subordinates to ensure departmental objectives are achieved.<\/p>\n<p>Qualifications &amp; Experience<\/p>\n<p>Degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.<br \/>\nMinimum of 3\u20135 years\u2019 experience in sales, marketing, or logistics operations.<br \/>\nIATA Certification will be an added advantage.<br \/>\nProven experience in ocean freight bookings and management.<br \/>\nExperience in airfreight operations and management.<\/p>\n<p>Key Skills &amp; Competencies<\/p>\n<p>Strong networking and relationship management skills<br \/>\nPersuasion, negotiation, and closing skills<br \/>\nSales planning and prospecting ability<br \/>\nStrong market knowledge within the logistics sector<br \/>\nCustomer needs assessment and problem-solving skills<br \/>\nTerritory and pipeline management<br \/>\nProfessionalism and strong communication skills<br \/>\nExperience using CRM systems<br \/>\nOperational knowledge of logistics and freight forwarding<\/p>\n<p>Sharing is Caring!
