\nZambia National Public Health Institute (ZNPHI)\u00a0with support from Global Fund under the Climate Change Project seeks\u00a0to recruit a suitably qualified and experienced person to be appointed in the underlisted position:
\nPosition: Malaria Programmer (01)
\nLocation: National Malaria Elimination Centre
\nReports to:\u00a0Assistant Director- National Malaria Elimination Centre
\nJob Purpose
\nTo effectively manage and coordinate the development, installation and review of the malaria program information systems in order to facilitate efficient and effective accessibility and flow of information in the malaria programme.

\nResponsibilities\/Principal Accountabilities<\/p>\n
Provide strategic technical advisory to the Ministry of Health (MOH) on the adoption of best practices regarding the installation, configuration and long-term maintenance of the NMEC DHIS2 instances.<\/p>\n
Lead the management and maintenance of the 2026 ITN Mass Campaign database, spearhead system backstopping and timely regular data backups.<\/p>\n
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to conduct a Rapid Assessment of the HMIS\/DHIS2\/MRRS, identifying critical strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats (SWOT).<\/p>\n
Spearhead the technical integration of climate data into the DHIS2\/MRRS platforms to enhance predictive modeling and malaria intervention planning. Utilize assessment findings to develop actionable reports and roadmaps, providing direct guidance to data managers on optimizing data quality, system interfaces, and compliance with HMIS requirements.<\/p>\n
Provide technical assistance to design suitable analytics tools to analyze data, improve quality and build confidence of stakeholders in using the HMIS data.<\/p>\n
Provide timely feedback to data managers, data providers and users and design interventions to improve data quality, completeness and timeliness as effectively as possible.<\/p>\n
Lead the professional development of national M&E and program staff, empowering them to independently troubleshoot M&E challenges and implement sustainable technical solutions<\/p>\n
Any other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Supervisor<\/p>\n
Required Qualifications and Experience<\/p>\n
Grade Twelve (12) School Certificate with Five (5) Credits or better including Mathematics and English;<\/p>\n
Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Public Health, Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science or a related field<\/p>\n
Master\u2019s Degree in Public Health, Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science or a related field will be an added advantage.<\/p>\n
Minimum of Five (5) years of experience in data management or analysis within public health or similar sectors.<\/p>\n
Desired Experience<\/p>\n
Experience in providing technical or advisory role in Health Management Information System to the Ministry of Health or the Malaria Programme desirable<\/p>\n
Experience in designing the DHIS2 for the malaria programme (i.e ITN database, IRS database, MRR, MCI ) desirable<\/p>\n
Experience in using statistical software (e.g., SPSS, R, or Python) and database management systems.<\/p>\n
Experience working in the health sector is desirable<\/p>\n
Experience working with and or on donor funded projects is an advantage<\/p>\n
Familiarity with ZNPHI\u2019s role in Health Security in Zambia<\/p>\n

Excellent oral and written communication skills<\/p>\n

Must be computer literate and proficient in MS Office<\/p>\n
