The role is responsible for positioning the bank as the transaction banking partner of choice for corporates, multinationals, SMEs, and public sector clients, driving sustainable revenue growth while ensuring operational excellence and compliance. The role will report to Group Head Corporate Investment Banking.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>What You\u00a0Will Be Responsible For<\/p>\n<p>Business Strategy &amp; Market Positioning<\/p>\n<p>Develop and execute a\u00a05-year GTS strategy\u00a0aligned with Access Bank Zambia\u2019s corporate\u00a0objectives.<br \/>\nPosition the bank as a leader in transaction banking,\u00a0leveraging\u00a0digital innovation and regional integration.<br \/>\nIdentify\u00a0emerging opportunities in payments, trade finance, supply chain finance, and treasury solutions.<br \/>\nDrive product innovation tailored to corporate, SME, and government clients.<\/p>\n<p>Revenue &amp; Business Growth<\/p>\n<p>Lead the expansion of GTS revenue streams through cash management, trade services, and payment solutions.<br \/>\nAchieve annual revenue, deposit mobilization, and fee income targets.<br \/>\nCross sells\u00a0GTS products across corporate banking, retail, and SME segments.<br \/>\nBuild partnerships with fintechs, payment processors, and international correspondent banks.<\/p>\n<p>Client Relationship Management<\/p>\n<p>Serve as the\u00a0trusted advisor\u00a0for corporate clients on transaction banking solutions.<br \/>\nBuild long-term partnerships with multinationals, large corporates, and government institutions.<br \/>\nEnsure high client satisfaction through proactive engagement and tailored solutions.<\/p>\n<p>Product Development &amp; Innovation<\/p>\n<p>Lead the design and rollout of innovative transaction banking products (digital payments, supply chain finance, liquidity management).<br \/>\nEnsure products are competitive, compliant, and aligned with market needs.<br \/>\nChampion digital transformation initiatives to enhance client experience.<\/p>\n<p>Risk &amp; Compliance Management<\/p>\n<p>Establish robust risk frameworks for transaction banking operations.<br \/>\nEnsure compliance with Bank of Zambia regulations, international trade rules, and internal governance.<br \/>\nMonitor operational risks in payments, trade finance, and cash management.<\/p>\n<p>Operational Excellence<\/p>\n<p>Drive efficiency in transaction processing, ensuring speed, accuracy, and reliability.<br \/>\nImplement best-in-class systems and processes for cash management and trade services.<br \/>\nCollaborate with technology teams to enhance automation and digital platforms.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Leadership &amp; Team Development<\/p>\n<p>Lead and mentor the GTS team, fostering a culture of innovation, performance, and client-centricity.<br \/>\nBuild internal capacity through training in transaction banking, trade finance, and digital solutions.<br \/>\nCollaborate across departments (Treasury, Corporate Banking, SME, IT) to deliver integrated solutions.<\/p>\n<p>Stakeholder Engagement &amp; Advocacy<\/p>\n<p>Represent Access Bank Zambia in\u00a0regional and global transaction banking forums.<br \/>\nBuild partnerships with regulators, industry associations, and\u00a0development\u00a0finance institutions.<br \/>\nAdvocate for policies that support digital payments, trade facilitation, and financial inclusion.<\/p>\n<p>What You Need\u00a0To\u00a0Have\u00a0(Skills\u00a0&amp; Experience)<\/p>\n<p>Bachelor\u2019s degree in Banking, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field.<br \/>\nAdvanced qualifications (MBA, CFA, ACCA, or professional certifications in trade finance\/transaction banking)\u00a0preferred.<br \/>\nMinimum of\u00a05 -10\u00a0years\u2019 experience in transaction banking, corporate banking, or treasury services.<br \/>\nProven\u00a0track record\u00a0of managing large portfolios and achieving revenue targets.<br \/>\nStrong knowledge of cash management, trade finance, payments, and liquidity\u00a0solutions.<br \/>\nSuccessful candidate will\u00a0be required\u00a0to provide verified academic qualifications by the Zambia Qualifications authority (ZAQA).<\/p>\n<p>Key Competencies<\/p>\n<p>Strategic Vision: Ability to design and execute long-term transaction banking strategies.<br \/>\nSector Expertise: Deep understanding of transaction banking products and\u00a0the best global\u00a0practices.<br \/>\nInnovation: Capacity to develop digital and client-centric solutions.<br \/>\nLeadership:\u00a0Strong team\u00a0management and mentoring skills.<br \/>\nStakeholder Engagement: Ability to build partnerships with corporates, regulators, and\u00a0fintech\u2019s.<br \/>\nRisk Management: Strong awareness of operational and regulatory risks.<br \/>\nAnalytical Thinking: Ability to interpret market trends and client needs into actionable strategies.<\/p>\n<p>Performance Indicators<\/p>\n<p>Growth in GTS revenue (fee income, deposits, trade finance volumes).<br \/>\nMarket share in transaction banking services.<br \/>\nClient satisfaction and retention rates.<br \/>\nSuccessful rollout of innovative products and digital solutions.<br \/>\nCompliance with regulatory and operational standards.<br \/>\nTeam performance and capacity development.<\/p>\n<p>Sharing is Caring!
