Job Summary
\nThe Tourism Operations Supervisor is responsible for the effective coordination and management of all tourism-related services within the park to ensure a safe, high-quality, and memorable visitor experience. The role supports the delivery of conservation-based tourism by maintaining high operational standards, supervising staff, and ensuring compliance with environmental, safety, and organisational requirements.
\nThe position plays a key role in ensuring that all tourism facilities, systems, and services meet international standards of excellence and are aligned with African Parks Network Standard Operating Procedures.
\nJob Requirements
\nKey Responsibilities<\/p>\n
Coordinate and oversee all tourism operations, facilities, and systems to ensure efficiency and high service standards.
\nManage visitor services, including handling inquiries, feedback, and complaints to enhance overall guest satisfaction.
\nSupervise, mentor, and support staff, including scheduling, recruitment, training, and performance management in line with organisational policies.
\nEnsure full compliance with health, safety, environmental, and park regulations for staff and visitors.
\nMonitor the condition of tourism infrastructure, tools, and equipment, ensuring timely maintenance and reporting of faults.
\nCollect, analyse, and report on operational data to support planning, decision-making, and continuous improvement.
\nSupport marketing initiatives, stakeholder engagement, and the promotion of the park\u2019s tourism products.
\nAssist in budgeting processes, revenue collection, and maintaining financial accountability within tourism operations.<\/p>\n

\nQualifications and Experience<\/p>\n
Bachelor\u2019s degree in Tourism Management, Conservation, Environmental Management, Business Administration, or a related field from a reputable and accredited institution.
\nMinimum of four (4) years\u2019 relevant experience in tourism management, preferably within a protected area or the tourism and hospitality sector.
\nDemonstrated experience in staff supervision and delivering high standards of customer service.<\/p>\n

\nCompetencies and Skills<\/p>\n
Valid driver\u2019s licence with no restrictions.
\nStrong computer literacy, including Microsoft Office applications and online marketing platforms.
\nExcellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
\nProven leadership and people management capabilities, with experience working in multicultural environments.
\nStrong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
\nExcellent organisational and time management abilities, with attention to detail.
\nStrong report writing and administrative skills.
\nGood understanding of the tourism sector in Zambia and the Southern African region.
\nSound knowledge of sustainable tourism practices and conservation principles.
\nFluency in written and spoken English.<\/p>\n

The role involves both office-based work and field operations in remote outdoor environments.
\nRequires flexibility to work weekends, public holidays, and respond to emergencies when necessary.
