\nAfrican Parks is a non-profit conservation organization committed to the full rehabilitation and long-term management of national parks in partnership with governments and local communities. The organization currently manages 23 national parks and protected areas in 13 countries, covering more than 20 million hectares. These countries include Angola, Benin, the Central African Republic, Chad, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, Malawi, Mozambique, the Republic of Congo, Rwanda, South Sudan, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
\nKafue National Park is recruiting a disciplined, proactive Control Room Supervisor to lead its 24-hour operations hub. This role ensures real-time communication, asset tracking, and emergency coordination across the park, supporting law enforcement and conservation management.
\nPosition Background and Purpose<\/p>\n
The Control Room serves as the central hub for monitoring, recording, and reporting all operational activities, supporting effective law enforcement and overall operations across multiple sites within Kafue National Park (KNP).

\nThe objective of the Control Room Supervisor is to maintain an efficient, secure, and continuously operational Control Room that enables real-time communication, situational awareness, and operational coordination between Command (Head Office and Departments) and Operations (remote and field teams), in support of effective law enforcement and conservation management.

\nThe position requires high levels of confidentiality, alertness, and adherence to KNP operational protocols. This position also requires good leadership and organisational skills to impart knowledge and ensure systems are followed by the Control Room Officers.
\nJob Requirements
\nKey Responsibilities<\/p>\n
Coordinate all park communications (WhatsApp, radio)
\nTrack movements, transport schedules, and deployments
\nActivate and support emergency response procedures
\nMaintain Control Room registers (EarthRanger, Crime, HWC, Exhibits)
\nEnsure secure, clean, and continuously operational Control Room
\nSupervise shift rotations and handovers<\/p>\n
General Requirements:<\/p>\n
High integrity, reliability, and discipline
\nPolice clearance required
\nMedical examination<\/p>\n
Qualifications & Experience:<\/p>\n
Grade 12 or higher
\nExperience with EarthRanger, Garmin InReach, VHF radio, emergency ops
\nStrong computer skills (Word, Excel)<\/p>\n
Skills & Competencies:<\/p>\n
Intermediate Excel (formulas, filtering, summary reports)
\nClear English communication (spoken\/written)
\nCalm under pressure, multitasking ability
\nFamiliarity with radio telephony and professional phone manners<\/p>\n
