This position plays a vital role in fostering a positive work environment, supporting employee engagement initiatives, and strengthening HR systems that enable the team to achieve conservation<br \/>\nVolunteer opportunities<\/p>\n<p>Job Description<br \/>\nAfrican Parks is a non-profit conservation organization that takes on the complete responsibility for the rehabilitation and long-term management of national parks in partnership with governments and local communities. We currently manage 23 national parks and protected areas in 13 countries covering over 20 million hectares in: Angola, Benin, Central African Republic, Chad, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, Malawi, Mozambique, the Republic of Congo, Rwanda, South Sudan, Zambia and Zimbabwe.<\/p>\n<p>Position Summary<br \/>\nThe Human Resource Officer will provide comprehensive HR support to the Bangweulu Wetlands by ensuring efficient implementation of HR policies, procedures, and best practices. The role is responsible for managing day\u2011to\u2011day HR operations, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, welfare and benefits administration, and maintaining accurate HR records.<br \/>\nThe HR Officer will serve as a key link between field\u2011based staff and the central HR function, ensuring consistent communication, timely resolution of staff concerns, and adherence to employment regulations. This position plays a vital role in fostering a positive work environment, supporting employee engagement initiatives, and strengthening HR systems that enable the team to achieve conservation and community development objectives.<\/p>\n<p>Key Responsibilities:<\/p>\n<p>Assist in recruitment processes including job posting, screening, shortlisting, and scheduling interviews<br \/>\nMaintain and update employee records and HR databases<br \/>\nSupport onboarding and orientation of new employees<br \/>\nAssist in payroll preparation and leave management<br \/>\nEnsure compliance with HR policies, labor laws, and company procedures<br \/>\nCoordinate employee engagement activities and trainings<br \/>\nSupport the development and implementation of HR initiatives and systems<br \/>\nProvide counselling on policies and procedures<br \/>\nBe actively involved in recruitment by preparing job descriptions, posting\u00a0ads\u00a0and managing the hiring process<br \/>\nCreate and implement effective onboarding plans<br \/>\nAssist\u00a0in performance management processes<br \/>\nSupport the management of disciplinary and grievance issues<br \/>\nHandle day-to-day HR queries and provide administrative support to the HR department<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nJob Requirements<br \/>\nQualifications and Requirements:<br \/>\nVolunteer opportunities<\/p>\n<p>Bachelor\u2019s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field<br \/>\nAt least 3 years of experience in a similar HR role<br \/>\nStrong understanding of HR functions and best practices<br \/>\nHigh level of confidentiality and professionalism<br \/>\nMust be a member of ZIHRMRequired Skills and Competencies<br \/>\nProven skills in administration and management of human resource;<br \/>\nDemonstrated experience in applying human resources management protocols;<br \/>\nExcellent inter-personal skills, and a good understanding of human relationships;<br \/>\nGood guidance, counselling and negotiation skills, at all levels;<br \/>\nGood team work skills;<br \/>\nExcellent oral and written\u00a0communications\u00a0skills in English; and<br \/>\nAdherence to African Parks values<\/p>\n<p>Safeguarding &amp; Ethics<\/p>\n<p>African Parks maintains zero tolerance for sexual exploitation, abuse and harassment, child labour and all forms of discrimination.
