\nAccounts Payables Officer
\n\u00a0JOB SUMMARY
\nThe Accounts Payable Officer is responsible for processing supplier invoices, ensuring timely payments, and maintaining accurate financial records in compliance with Zambian financial regulations and company policies. The role supports efficient cash flow management and strong supplier relationships.
\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES<\/p>\n
Receive, verify, and process supplier invoices and payment requests
\nMatch invoices with purchase orders and Goods Received Notes (GRNs)
\nPrepare payment vouchers and process payments (cheques, bank transfers, mobile payments)
\nEnsure compliance with statutory requirements, including withholding tax (WHT) and Value Added Tax (VAT)
\nReconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies promptly
\nMaintain accurate and organized accounts payable records
\nMonitor payment schedules to ensure timely settlement of obligations
\nLiaise with suppliers and internal departments regarding invoice issues
\nAssist with monthly and year-end financial closing processes
\nPrepare accounts payable reports for management review
\nSupport internal and external audits
\nEnsure adherence to company policies and financial controls
\nMaintenance of the advance schedule, following up on overdue transactions and ensuring that ensuring that invoices are processed.<\/p>\n
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE & ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE<\/p>\n
Minimum three (3) to five (5) years experience in Finance.
\nMust have excellent Microsoft Excel skills.
\nExperience in Navision or ERP System is an advantage.
\nMust have good communication skills.
\nKnowledge of Zambian tax regulations (VAT, WHT)
\nExperience with accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, Pastel, or ERP systems), Navision<\/p>\n
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS<\/p>\n
Degree or part ACCA\/ZICA qualified, Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
\nMember of ZICA<\/p>\n
