\nOverall Job Purpose
\nReporting to the Electrical Superintendent, you will be responsible for assisting in establishment of preventative and responsive maintenance installations and repairs heating, ventilation (Air-Con,Chiller and, Refrigeration and any associated equipment\u00a0) \u00a0hereafter referred\u00a0 to as equipment maintenance and new installation, development across the site, to ensure maximum operational performance is achieved in a safe and cost effective manner while ensuring compliance with relevant procedures, polices, legal requirements and consent conditions across the mine site. Additionally you will be responsible for the maintenance of all Emergency Generators site wide and fault finding thereof an added advantage Power line knowledge.<\/p>\n
Specific Job Responsibility<\/p>\n
This position will be required to adhere to all relevant requirements, policies, procedures and legal regulations pertaining to health, safety, environment and quality, as well as finance, human resources, and any other regulations as required by the company and relevant to the level of the role and responsibilities of the function, responsible for air con technicians and provide training where needed.
\nInstallation & Maintenance:\u00a0Installing new systems (furnaces, AC units, heat pumps) and performing regular, preventative maintenance like cleaning coils and replacing filters.<\/p>\n
Diagnostics & Repair:\u00a0Troubleshooting\u00a0electrical components, wiring, and mechanical parts to fix broken units.
\nHVAC\/R Knowledge:\u00a0Handling refrigerants (following EPA regulations), analyzing schematics, and repairing air conditioning or heating equipment.
\nSpecialization:\u00a0Focusing on residential homes, commercial buildings, or specialized areas like HVAC\/R, sheet metal ductwork, or air balancing.
\nTools of the Trade
\nMultimeters, gauge manifolds for testing refrigerant pressures, brazing torches, and vacuum pumps.
\nHVAC technicians often use specialized software for energy management and system diagnostics
\nInstallation<\/p>\n
Installation of new and replacement of old, faulty or redundant systems as per the Company and vendor\u2019s safety and quality specifications.<\/p>\n
Maintenance<\/p>\n
Adhere to the companies planned and preventative maintenance schedules and procedures.
\nEffectively maintain the equipment \u00a0with the minimum effect on the plant production.<\/p>\n
Reporting and record keeping.<\/p>\n
Report all incidents immediately to the Supervisor.
\nEnsure that all Safety logbooks are checked and signed according to the procedure.<\/p>\n
Stock Control<\/p>\n
Ensure that stock levels of power line and associated equipment are maintained in the warehouse and report all defective or substandard equipment to your direct Supervisor.<\/p>\n
Tools and audit.<\/p>\n
Maintain the correct and safe usage of all hand tools within your section
\nReport all defective tools, record and control all replacement of tools.<\/p>\n
Training and development.<\/p>\n
Identify needs for specialised training requirements within your area.<\/p>\n
Other duties<\/p>\n
Any other duties as directed by the Direct Electrical Supervisor.<\/p>\n

Minimum 15 years\u2019 experience in a Mining environment working as an air-con technician with relevant certificates.<\/p>\n

Grade 12 Certificate
\nA relevant Bachelors Degree in Engineering
\nMember of the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ)
\nZAQA Validated Qualifications<\/p>\n
