\nAfrican Parks is a non-profit conservation organisation that assumes full responsibility for the rehabilitation and long-term management of national parks in partnership with governments and local communities. The organisation currently manages 24 national parks and protected areas in 13 countries, covering over 20 million hectares across Africa, including significant landscapes in Zambia and Zimbabwe.

\nJob Requirements
\nKey Duties and Responsibilities<\/p>\n
The Mechanical Technician will:<\/p>\n
Perform routine maintenance and servicing of mechanical equipment, vehicles, and
\nHands-on experience with Toyota Land Cruisers and demonstrated understanding of vehicle electrical systems will be an added advantage.
\nDiagnose mechanical faults and carry out effective repairs
\nInstall and commission mechanical systems and components
\nConduct inspections and preventive maintenance according to schedules
\nMaintain accurate service records and maintenance logs
\nEnsure strict compliance with safety standards and workshop procedures
\nOperate tools, diagnostic equipment, and workshop machinery safely
\nAssist in parts ordering and inventory control
\nRespond promptly to breakdowns and emergency repairs
\nKeep the workshop clean, organized, and hazard-free<\/p>\n
Minimum Qualifications and Experience<\/p>\n
Diploma or Certificate in Mechanical Engineering or related field
\nProven experience as a Mechanical Technician or similar role
\nHands-on experience with engines, generators, or industrial equipment (preferred)
\nBasic computer literacy for reporting and documentation<\/p>\n
Required Skills and Competencies<\/p>\n
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and components
\nAbility to read and interpret technical manuals and drawings
\nTroubleshooting and problem-solving skills
\nProficiency in using mechanical tools and diagnostic equipment
\nAttention to detail and safety awareness
\nAbility to work independently and as part of a team
\nGood communication and reporting skills
\nTime management and reliability<\/p>\n
