\nPurpose
\nThe Area Supervisor, Production \u2013 Load & Haul (Rompad) is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a designated work area within the Load and Haul section. This role involves ensuring safe, efficient, and effective deployment of personnel and equipment to meet shift production targets while complying with safety, environmental, and operational standards.

\nKey Responsibilities<\/p>\n
The incumbent will be required to adhere to all relevant requirements, policies, procedures and legal regulations pertaining to health, safety, environment and quality, as well as finance, human resources, and any other regulations as required by the company and relevant to the level of the role and responsibilities of the function.
\nSupervise Operators and Assistants to ensure effective execution of load and haul tasks within assigned work areas.
\nAllocate and monitor equipment use, ensuring optimal performance and minimizing downtime.
\nConduct pre-shift and post-shift inspections and briefings to communicate plans, safety alerts, and operational updates.
\nEncourage and enforce safe work practices, ensuring all tasks are performed in accordance with safety procedures and risk assessments.
\nIdentify and address operational issues or equipment inefficiencies in a timely manner, escalating where necessary to the Shift Supervisor.
\nMotivate and guide team members to maintain high levels of productivity, discipline, and teamwork.
\nSupport the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and output.
\nMaintain accurate records of shift activities, equipment performance, and personnel attendance.
\nLiaise with maintenance and support teams to coordinate repairs and servicing of equipment within area of responsibility.
\nPerform other related duties as assigned to support production goals.<\/p>\n

\nQualifications<\/p>\n
Grade 12 Certificate
\nDiploma or Certificate in Mining, Mineral Science, or a related qualification
\nValid Blasting License
\nFirst Aid Certificate
\nDriver\u2019s License<\/p>\n
Experience<\/p>\n
Minimum 3\u20135 years\u2019 experience in open-pit mining, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role
\nStrong technical knowledge of heavy mining equipment and their operations (trucks, loaders, excavators, dozers, etc.)
\nGood understanding of production scheduling, equipment utilization, and operational safety standards
\nDemonstrated ability to lead small teams and resolve field-level operational challenges
\nStrong communication and interpersonal skills
\nCompetent in basic computer use and mining-related software systems<\/p>\n
