\nPurpose of Role:
\nThe Clearing Officer will work as part of a team in the clearing and forwarding company and function as a Customs Clearing Officer.<\/p>\n

\nDuties and Key Responsibilities
\n\u00a0<\/p>\n
Track shipments, update the database on arrival information, and ensure correct shipping documentation is in place in advance.
\nUndertake all declaration and customs clearing procedures for imports and exports.
\nApply for IDFS (Import Declaration Forms).
\nAdvise management on the most appropriate course of action to resolve technical challenges in declaration and clearing operations.
\nManage bonds and handle cancellation procedures.
\nFollow up correspondence between statutory bodies and other stakeholders.
\nObtain customs release for imports \/ exports and truck border consignments.
\nEnsure the correct use of tariffs.
\nEnsure accurate values are used during declaration to avoid penalties or losses.
\nEstablish and maintain strong working relationships with the customs office.
\nPerform any other relevant duties as assigned by the supervisor.<\/p>\n

Ability to build and maintain good working relationships with stakeholders.
\nStrong interpersonal and communication skills.
\nFlexible and able to work extended hours when required.<\/p>\n
Qualifications and Experience<\/p>\n
Full Grade 12 Certificate.
\nDiploma or Degree in Clearing and Forwarding or a related field.
\nMinimum of 3 years\u2019 experience in clearing and forwarding (local imports, border clearing, and transit goods).
\nComprehensive knowledge of HS Codes and accuracy in classification.
\nKnowledge of government procedures and customs laws relating to imports, exports, and transit goods (air, sea, and road freight)
\nMust be a resident of Chirundu District or willing to relocate.
\nCandidates aged 21-35 are encouraged to apply.
\nFluent in English.<\/p>\n
