{"id":7956,"date":"2026-04-02T18:00:36","date_gmt":"2026-04-02T18:00:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jobs.dataaxisnode.com\/zambia\/job\/relationship-manager-mid-corporates-at-zambia-national-commercial-bank-plc\/"},"modified":"2026-04-02T18:00:42","modified_gmt":"2026-04-02T18:00:42","slug":"relationship-manager-mid-corporates-at-zambia-national-commercial-bank-plc","status":"publish","type":"job_listing","link":"https:\/\/jobs.dataaxisnode.com\/zambia\/job\/relationship-manager-mid-corporates-at-zambia-national-commercial-bank-plc\/","title":{"rendered":"Relationship Manager \u2013 Mid Corporates at Zambia National Commercial Bank Plc"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Position Overview<\/p>\n<p>Zanaco Bank Plc is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals for the following job aimed at contributing to the Bank\u2019s strategic vision, in the Commercial Division under the Corporate &amp; Investment Banking at Kitwe Business Centre:<\/p>\n<p>Role Description<\/p>\n<p>JOB PURPOSE<br \/>\nTo grow and sustain a portfolio of Mid Corporate clients and building long-term relationships founded on efficient and reliable support for their business through quality Relationship Management; evidenced by quick turn around on solution delivery to clients, consistent acceptable Net Promotor Scores, and attainment of financial and non-financial objectives.<br \/>\nTo deepen the wallet share of existing customer relationships as well as developing new relationships with a view of increasing revenue and market share and delivering product cross sell and maintaining a robust risk control environment.<br \/>\nUnder the supervision of the\u00a0Head Mid Corporates\u00a0the following are among the\u00a0Job Key Responsibilities:<br \/>\n\u00b7 Coordinate the sales efforts for liabilities and assets; extensively market low cost liabilities and identify suitable profitable assets for on \u2013 boarding.<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Collaborate with Transaction Banking staff to ensure proposals and tenders have product partner input and are submitted timely.<br \/>\n\u00b7 To track implementation of solutions with product teams \u2013 Transaction Banking, Treasury, Scheme loans, Workplace Banking etc. \u2013 within the agreed turnaround time.<br \/>\n\u00b7 Maximise revenue from the relationships across the portfolio by cross selling products and solutions that increase wallet share as well as track action points contained in call reports to their logical conclusion.<br \/>\n\u00b7 Proactively Initiate all credit proposes and obtain appropriate approvals.<br \/>\n\u00b7 Coordinate post approval actions of credit facilities for the Unit.<br \/>\nNewspapers<\/p>\n<p>Proactively manage and maintain a high standard of operational control including adherence to Risk Management Control Document guidelines, KYC\/CDD &amp; Key Control Assessment procedures and other bank policies.<\/p>\n<p>Deliver and maintain a high level of customer service across all customer touch points.<\/p>\n<p>Refer to Head Mid Corporates on non-business relationships that are acceptable and profitable to the bank.<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Originate, maintain and develop strategic relationships within the economy with specific emphasis on relationships designated for Large Corporates.<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Manage the corporate loan book within parameters provided by Risk Management and in accordance with acceptable risk management practices as defined by the banks risk frameworks.<br \/>\n\u00b7 Negotiate terms and conditions and prepare an accurate and detailed information pack for Corporate Credit, to prepare credit applications for new and renewal of loan facilities for Mid Corporate clients.<\/p>\n<p>Present and defend credit applications in the Credit Committee.<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Attend regular meetings with customers, co-jointly with product teams and other internal stakeholders.<br \/>\n\u00b7 Attend industry conferences and relevant workshops delivered by regulators.<\/p>\n<p>Prepare Call Planning reports, Call Reports &amp; Tracking Templates and update the \u201cDeal Pipeline\u201d.<br \/>\nComplete the wallet sizing for clients timely and appropriately. File all client calls, client communications, internal memos, credit papers on the assigned portfolio.<br \/>\nDiligently maintain and update client files.<br \/>\nTimely initiate all credit processes (extensions, excesses full briefs, annual reviews)<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Cross Sell Retail, Trade, Treasury and Transaction Banking products and refer potential clients of the Bank to Commercial and Agriculture.<br \/>\n\u00b7 Assist Head \u2013 Mid Corporates with product knowledge and market research.<br \/>\n\u00b7 Coordinate and provide input to GLC &amp; credit processes and create bank proposals and track to make certain of their timely delivery.<br \/>\n\u00b7 Oversee full implementation of credit products and coordinate the implementation of solutions delivered by Product Partners.<\/p>\n<p>Research, create and follow up on a target list for potential new business.<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Introduce new business to Head \u2013 Mid Corporates.<br \/>\n\u00b7 Ensure proper segmentation &amp; Contra codes are applied against assigned portfolio of corporate customers.<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Jointly work with Corporate Credit &amp; Risk on credit issues with a view of implementing the Zanaco credit processes (Early Alert, Watch List &amp; Provisioning) with the objective of minimal default by proactively restructuring to avoid default where necessary.<br \/>\n\u00b7 Appraise Head- Mid Corporates of any appropriate market information.<br \/>\n\u00b7 Identification and onboarding of new customers.<br \/>\n\u00b7 Incremental business and\/or new solutions to existing customers.<br \/>\n\u00b7 Development and implementation of the sales strategy.<br \/>\n\u00b7 Assists in coordinating the implementation of Large Corporates customers.<br \/>\n\u00b7 Assists in coordinating End-to-End post approval activities.<br \/>\n\u00b7 Tracking and rectifying any income leakage in the unit.Any other responsibilities or tasks as assigned by management.<br \/>\nINTERNAL\/EXTERNAL CONTACT<br \/>\n\u00b7 Existing \/ prospective customers<br \/>\n\u00b7 Internal stakeholders<br \/>\n\u00b7 Officials of regulatory bodies e.g. BOZ\u2013 for compliance and market information.<\/p>\n<p>Requirements<\/p>\n<p>QUALIFICATIONS\/EXPERIENCE<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Grade 12 Credit or above mandatory in Mathematics and English and any other three subjects.<\/p>\n<p>University degree in a Business-related Field or professional qualification from a recognized university.<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Minimum of Six (6) years in a related role particularly in a corporate sales environment.<br \/>\n\u00b7 Working knowledge of financial products and services.<br \/>\n\u00b7 Demonstrated selling, negotiation and\u00a0\u00a0communication skills.<br \/>\n\u00b7 Demonstrates sound knowledge of PowerPoint and presentation skills.<br \/>\nJOB CORE COMPETENCIES<\/p>\n<p>Results Driven<br \/>\nCommunicating with Impact<br \/>\nWorking in teams<br \/>\nBuilding Relationships<br \/>\nBeing Pro \u2013 Active<br \/>\nResilience<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Analytical thinking<br \/>\n\u00b7 Team work<br \/>\n\u00b7 Customer service orientation<br \/>\n\u00b7 Conceptual thinking<br \/>\n\u00b7 Negotiation Skills<\/p>\n<p>Disclaimer<\/p>\n<p>ONLY SHORTLISTED APPLICANTS WILL BE COMMUNICATED TO.<br \/>\nZanaco provides equal opportunity in employment for all qualified persons and prohibits discrimination in employment (women are encouraged to apply).<\/p>\n<p>Sharing is Caring!
