\nFINANCE MANAGER
\nMeanwood Finance Corporation Limited, a dynamic and growing non-deposit taking Microfinance institution regulated by the Central Bank, is seeking to recruit a highly competent, results-driven, and experienced person to join our team as Finance Manager.
\nJob Purpose
\nTo oversee the financial operations of the microfinance institution, ensuring effective financial planning, reporting, compliance, and support to lending activities, while aligning with the organization\u2019s strategic objectives under the guidance of the Chief Financial Officer.
\nKey Responsibilities
\n1. Financial Planning & Analysis<\/p>\n
Support the CFO in developing budgets, forecasts, and financial strategies
\nMonitor financial performance and provide variance analysis
\nAnalyze loan portfolio performance and profitability trends
\nPrepare accurate and timely financial statements (monthly, quarterly, annual)
\nEnsure compliance with accounting standards (e.g., IFRS) and Bank of Zambia prudential returns
\nSubmit reports to the CFO for review and consolidation
\nSupervises: Accountants, Finance Officers, Cashiers
\nMonitor daily cash flow and liquidity needs
\nEnsure availability of funds for loan disbursements and operations
\nAssist the CFO in managing funding sources and financial obligations<\/p>\n
2. Loan Portfolio Oversight<\/p>\n
Track loan disbursements, collections, and arrears
\nMonitor Portfolio at Risk (PAR) and provisioning levels
\nProvide regular portfolio performance reports to the CFO<\/p>\n
3. Compliance & Regulatory Reporting<\/p>\n
Ensure compliance with microfinance regulations and tax laws
\nPrepare statutory and regulatory reports for review by the CFO
\nSupport audits and regulatory inspections<\/p>\n
4. Risk Management & Internal Controls<\/p>\n
Implement internal controls and financial policies
\nIdentify and escalate financial risks to the CFO
\nMonitor fraud risks and enforce control procedures<\/p>\n
5. Budget Control & Cost Management<\/p>\n
Monitor departmental budgets and expenditures
\nEnsure cost efficiency across operations
\nProvide recommendations to the CFO on cost optimization<\/p>\n
6. Team Supervision<\/p>\n
Supervise finance and accounting staff
\nEnsure proper execution of financial processes and controls
\nSupport staff training and performance management<\/p>\n
7. Audit Coordination<\/p>\n
Coordinate internal and external audits
\nPrepare audit schedules and documentation
\nEnsure implementation of audit recommendations<\/p>\n
8. Strategic & Operational Support<\/p>\n
Provide financial insights to support decision-making
\nAssist the CFO with financial strategy, fundraising, and investor reporting
\nSupport new product costing and financial feasibility analysis<\/p>\n
Skills and Competencies<\/p>\n
Strong financial analysis and reporting skills
\nKnowledge of microfinance operations
\nFamiliarity with accounting systems and MIS
\nGood understanding of regulatory requirements
\nLeadership and organizational skills
\nHigh integrity and attention to detail<\/p>\n
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)<\/p>\n
Accuracy and timeliness of reports
\nPortfolio quality (PAR and arrears)
\nBudget compliance
\nLiquidity management effectiveness
\nAudit outcomes and compliance outcomes<\/p>\n
Qualifications and Experience
\nEducation<\/p>\n
Bachelor\u2019s degree in accounting and finance, or related field
\nProfessional qualification (CA, ACCA, CIMA,) preferred<\/p>\n
Experience<\/p>\n
Minimum of 5 years in finance\/accounting, preferably in microfinance or financial services
\nExperience in loan portfolio analysis is an advantage
\nValid membership with the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountant (ZICA)<\/p>\n
