Lumwana Mining Company seeks to recruit a highly committed employee for the position of Construction Manager \u2013 Plant (Fixed Term Contract)\u00a0to\u00a0join the Project Department.\u00a0We are in search of an individual who can champion Barrick\u2019s DNA by:

Reporting to the Project Manager \u2013 LEP, you will be responsible for the work carried out by your team; duties may include planning workloads and delegating tasks to your colleagues. You may also be required to carry out practical tasks alongside your team, day-to-day.
\n\u00a0Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:\u00a0<\/p>\n
Responsible for site safety and environmental aspects of all contractors in conjunction with the project safety department.
\nConducting critical control verifications in the field (CCVS)
\nResponsible for ensuring that proper and effective\u00a0Engineering Contractor Plan (ECP) construction management.
\nPreparing construction strategies that align with the Project strategy needs
\nCoordinate and implement indirect activities, internal and external, required to support a productive project execution, including functional staff support, support craft activities, and any other resource necessary to assure a safe and quality project execution\u00a0
\nCoordinate all activities and communication within the site\/project areas as well as between those areas and other offices and locations.
\nDirectly and responsible for all staff assigned to the project through direct reports typically consisting of managers and supervisors heading up the various functions (i.e., Safety Manager, Quality Manager, Construction Manager\/Superintendents, and others as appropriate for the project)
\nPreparing construction strategies that align with the Project strategy needs.
\nConduct in debt constructability reviews.
\nMaintain and update State of Work (SOW) and preconstruction documents, and meet contract obligations by developing relationships with reliable contractors and vendors
\nRespond efficiently and effectively to work delays, emergencies, and other project disruptions
\nOversee and direct construction projects from conception to completion
\nReview the project in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs
\nOversee all onsite and offsite constructions to monitor compliance with building and safety regulations
\nEnsure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques
\nBriefing your team on targets and providing business updates
\nEnsuring work is completed on time, to a high standard, and in line with health and safety guideline.<\/p>\n

\nTo be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:<\/p>\n
Full Grade 12 School Certificate
\nBSc in Engineering\/Engineering Technology\/Architecture\/or related field or equivalent National Higher Diploma.
\nMinimum of 8 years\u2019 experience in\u00a0Construction Management\u00a0
\nExperience in the mining industry, with specific experience in feasibility studies.
\nExcellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
\nGood written and verbal communication skills and Team skills.
\nProficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and good communicator
\nGood knowledge of Primavera P6.
\nMust be familiar with safe working practices.
\nMust have a valid Driver\u2019s Licence.<\/p>\n
