\n8.0 SENIOR DATA SCIENTIST-ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE, SALARY GRADE ZRA05 (4 POSITIONS), INNOVATION AND PROJECT MANAGEMENT FUNCTION
\nA. PURPOSEReporting to the AI Data\u00a0\u00a0Science\u00a0Manager, the job holder will support the Authority\u2019s corporate strategy by delivering data-driven insights and artificial intelligence solutions. The role involves collecting and processing data, developing machine learning models, and deploying AI solutions that enhance operational efficiency and decision-making within the Zambia Revenue Authority.

B. MAIN DUTIES\/ACCOUNTABILITIES<\/p>\n
Collaborating with business stakeholders to identify opportunities where Artificial Intelligence solutions can address business challenges.
\nTranslating business problems into structured data science problems and defining appropriate analytical approaches.
\nExtracting and integrating data from various organisational data sources.
\nProcessing and preparing datasets for analysis and model development.
\nConducting statistical and exploratory data analysis to generate insights.
\nDesigning and developing machine learning models to address identified business needs.
\nIterating and refining models until they deliver reliable insights or are ready for deployment into production environments.
\nDeveloping proof-of-concept prototypes to demonstrate the potential of AI solutions.
\nWorking with software engineers to integrate and operationalise machine learning models in production systems.
\nCreating data visualisations and dashboards to communicate analytical insights to stakeholders.
\nEnsuring that data usage complies with internal data governance policies and relevant regulatory requirements.
\nSupervising and mentoring junior officers and providing technical guidance to the team.
\nKeeping abreast of developments in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science to ensure the Authority remains technologically competitive.<\/p>\n
C. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS<\/p>\n
Grade Twelve (12) School Certificate or General Certificate of Education equivalent with five (5) credits including Mathematics and English;
\nBachelor\u2019s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science or a related field;
\nMaster\u2019s Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Science or related field will be an added advantage;
\nMinimum two (2) years\u2019 experience in a Data Science or Machine Learning role or one (1) year Data Science experience with at least two (2) years Software Development experience;
\nStrong knowledge of Machine Learning and Data Science concepts;
\nDemonstrated skills in data analytics, data processing and computer programming; and
\nMust possess Academic and Professional qualifications certified by the Zambia Qualifications Authority.<\/p>\n
