\n6.0 PROJECT OFFICER, SALARY GRADE ZRA05 (1 POSITION), ADMINISTRATION FUNCTION
\nA. PURPOSEReporting to Manager- Buildings and Projects, the job holder will be responsible effective designing and producing architectural drawings, including supervising of in-house and outsourced construction and general maintenance works.
\nB. MAIN DUTIES\/ACCOUNTABILITIES<\/p>\n
Conducting studies and surveys as may be necessary to determine the feasibility of existing and proposed building projects.
\nDesigning and producing architectural drawings.
\nSubmitting drawings and obtaining planning permission and approval under Building Acts or other similar Local Authority and statutory requirements.
\nSupervising contractors and ensuring compliance with building standards.
\nEnsuring projects are completed within budget and to required standards.
\nMaintaining buildings and infrastructure.
\nProviding technical advice and guidelines to contractors and service providers on matters of architecture and building standards.
\nSupervising of contractors and other service providers to ensure quality works and compliance with building standards and specifications.
\nConducting inspections on defects on building elements, service installations and auxiliary facilities and making recommendations for remedial measures.
\nSupervising of artisans and technicians on in-house maintenance works and general service of auxiliary facilities.
\nProviding support towards occupational safety and statutory requirements.
\nSupervising of both in-house and external contract works.
\nUndertake any other project related works and guidance as may be assigned.<\/p>\n
C. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS<\/p>\n
Grade Twelve (12) School Certificate or equivalent with credits or better including Mathematics and English;
\nUniversity Degree in Architecture or any other relevant related field;
\nMinimum of three (3) years relevant post-qualifying work experience in Architectural and Building Construction work;
\nMinimum of two (2) years of relevant experience in contract administration and management;
\nMust have a valid membership of relevant professional body; and
\nMust possess Academic and Professional qualifications certified by the Zambia Qualifications Authority.<\/p>\n
