\n5.0 ACCOUNTANT\u2013 FIXED ASSETS, SALARY GRADE ZRA05 (1 POSITION) FINANCE FUNCTION
\nA. PURPOSEReporting to the Senior Financial Accountant, the job holder will be responsible for safeguarding and maintaining proper financial accounting records of the physical assets of Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA).
\nB. MAIN DUTIES\/ACCOUNTABILITIES<\/p>\n
Updating the fixed asset register to ensure that there are records for all ZRA assets.
\nUndertaking Annual Asset Verifications for Assets in all ZRA stations countrywide.
\nDisposing that all obsolete, damaged and non-existent assets are recommended for disposal.
\nPosting all approved asset disposals in the accounting system.
\nRunning the monthly depreciation of fixed assets on SAP.
\nPerforming monthly reconciliations of the fixed asset register and the Trial Balance.
\nResolving reconciling items and making follow ups to ensure that all reconciling items between the general ledger and fixed assets register are resolved promptly.
\nEnsuring that all newly acquired assets are labelled and tagged before distribution.
\nEnsuring that all newly acquired assets are capitalized in accordance with the approved policy.
\nCapturing and posting all fixed asset movements and transfers in collaboration with Administration and ICT Departments.
\nEnsuring that all completed projects are capitalized from Capital Work in Progress to the appropriate asset classes.
\nOverseeing and initiating of the printing of asset tags.
\nEnsuring that all general ledger postings related to fixed assets are correct.
\nLiaising with all internal and external stakeholders in relation to fixed assets.<\/p>\n
C. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS<\/p>\n
Grade twelve (12) School Certificate or General Certificate of Education (GCE) equivalent with five credits including Mathematics and English;
\nUniversity Degree in Accounting or ACCA or CIMA or ZICA;
\nMinimum of three (3) years relevant post-qualifying work experience;
\nMust have a valid membership of ZICA, CIMA or ACCA or any other relevant professional bodies; and
\nMust possess Academic and Professional qualifications certified by the Zambia Qualifications Authority.<\/p>\n
