\nJob Purpose
\nThe Aircraft Maintenance Technician will conduct regular inspections and checks of aircraft systems, engines, and components to promptly identify and resolve issues. Reporting directly to the Senior Aircraft Maintenance Technician, the role ensures that Airways facilities, utilities, and equipment remain safe, functional, and compliant with regulatory and operational standards. Perform scheduled maintenance tasks and repairs in compliance with aviation regulations and manufacturer guidelines.
\nSummary of Responsibilities:\u00a0<\/p>\n
Conduct inspections of aircraft maintenance facilities, equipment, and utilities to identify faults and maintenance requirements.
\nTroubleshoot and diagnose electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems to ensure optimal aircraft performance.
\nUtilize specialized tools and equipment to carry out maintenance and repair tasks effectively.
\nKeep abreast of industry developments and best practices to enhance maintenance procedures and efficiency.
\nAssist in supervising and monitoring contractors engaged in outsourced maintenance works.
\nMaintain accurate entries of maintenance logs, records of repairs, and inventory of tools and materials.
\nEnsure compliance with Zambia Civil Aviation Authority (ZCAA), Occupational Health & Safety (OHS), and environmental standards.
\nParticipate in requisitioning of tools, spares, and materials through the Procurement Department.
\nTroubleshoot aircraft structural, mechanical or hydraulic systems to identify problems and adjust and repair systems according to specifications, technical drawings, manuals and established procedures
\nRepair and overhaul aircraft structural, mechanical or hydraulic systems
\nInstall or modify aircraft engines and mechanical, hydraulic, flight control, fuel and pneumatic systems
\nDismantle airframes, aircraft engines or other aircraft systems for repair, overhaul and cleaning, and reassemble
\nPerform and document routine maintenance
\nOrder and maintain inventory of parts and supplies.
\nInspect structural and mechanical systems of aircraft and ensure that these systems meet Zambia Civil Aviation Authority (ZCAA and company standards of performance and safety
\nRespond to urgent maintenance requests to minimize operational disruptions.
\nInspect work of aircraft mechanics performing maintenance, repair and overhaul, or modification of aircraft and aircraft mechanical systems to ensure adherence to standards and procedures
\nMaintain detailed repair, inspection and certification records of aircrafts.<\/p>\n

\nQualifications and Experience
\nCommunications & Media Studies<\/p>\n
Full Grade 12 School Certificate.
\nDiploma in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering.
\nDiploma in Aircraft Maintenance or Engineering will be plus
\nA Degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering in any of the above fields will be an added advantage.
\nHolder of engineers License category A and C or Category X.
\nMinimum of 2-3 years\u2019 relevant experience in aircraft maintenance and engineering support, preferably in aviation, transport, or related industries.
\nMust be skilled in using various tools and equipment for maintenance and repairs
\nSound knowledge of aircraft systems, radio and avionics equipment will be an added advantage
\nExtensive hands-on experience in aircraft maintenance, including knowledge of various aircraft models and systems.
\nProficiency in reading technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics to perform maintenance tasks accurately.
\nKnowledge of health, safety, and environmental compliance requirements.
\nComputer literacy (MS Office; familiarity with maintenance management systems will be an advantage).
\nValid driver\u2019s license is an added advantage.<\/p>\n
