Reporting to the Medical Superintendent \u2013 LEP, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal health of all LMC employees, contractors and their dependents.
\nYour duties will include but are not limited to the following:\u00a0<\/p>\n
Coordinate project needs in regards with health care with the established site health services.
\nUnder the direction of the Luwmana Occupational Health Superintendent, assist in the provision of adequate professional actions needed for the project
\nAssist in the provision of basic diagnosis and treatment of common illness and medical conditions.
\nReferral of patients for admission, acting as liaison with referral centres.
\nCoordinate and supervise the management and referral of emergencies off site, if indicated.
\nEnsure compliance with related applicable statutory regulations.
\nAssist in the provision of continuous medical education throughout the project, proposing communication means and informative campaigns.
\nCompile statistics and deliver reports to the Occupational Health Superintendent and the Project Health and Safety Manager.
\nDevelop, implement and maintain related safe work procedures applicable to the project and promote high safety and health awareness.
\nPromote and comply with the LMC Occupational Health & Safety Policy.
\nInspect and ensure that the project medical and first aid facilities are kept by medical and statutory standards and regulations, permanently monitoring hygienic conditions.
\nEnsure sufficient availability of medical supplies and medications, reporting on stocks and usage rates to the Medical Superintendent and Project Health and Safety Manager.
\n\u00a0<\/p>\n
To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:
\n\u00a0<\/p>\n
Full Grade Twelve (12) School Certificate
\nMB ChB. (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery)
\nRegistered Medical Practitioner in Zambia.
\nMinimum of five (5) years of post-graduate experience.
\nDemonstrated experience and\/or qualifications in Occupational Medicine is desirable.
\nHigh level understanding of all relevant legislation affecting the employment and safety of persons in the mining industry in Zambia.
\nExcellent verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal skills.
\nProject Management proven experience and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
\nMS software and Microsoft Office Suite<\/p>\n
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
\nMust have a valid Driver\u2019s License<\/p>\n
