\nAbout Cotton Development Trust (CDT)
\nThe Cotton Development Trust (CDT) is a leading cotton research and development organization dedicated to improving cotton productivity, seed production, sustainability, and farmer livelihoods in Zambia. CDT works closely with smallholder farmers, government institutions, and private sector stakeholders to promote innovative research, extension services, and capacity building in the cotton industry.
\nThrough its research programs, CDT focuses on cotton breeding, agronomy, integrated pest management, and climate-smart agriculture to enhance cotton yields and resilience.
\nCDT invites applications from suitably qualified and motivated individuals to fill the following positions:
\nRESEARCH ASSISTANT \u2013 AGRONOMY
\nJob Summary:\u00a0The Research Assistant (Agronomy) will support agronomic research activities focused on improving cotton production systems and best management practices.

\nKey Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
Assist in the establishment and monitoring of field trials
\nCollect agronomic data including plant growth, pests, and yield parameters
\nSupport implementation of integrated pest management practices
\nParticipate in farmer training and extension activities
\nAssist in compiling research reports and documentation<\/p>\n
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS\u00a0<\/p>\n
Minimum of a Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Agricultural Science or a related field
\nAt least 2 years of relevant work experience
\nMust be mature, flexible, and able to work with minimal supervision
\nStrong communication and interpersonal skills
\nAbility to work in a team-oriented environment
\nFlexible and adaptable in fast-changing contexts<\/p>\n
All positions will report to the Head of Research Department.
