Job Description<\/p>\n
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Kitchen Equipment & Technician to join our team . In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and ensuring the optimal performance of commercial kitchen equipment in various food service establishments throughout the area.<\/p>\n
Diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of commercial kitchen equipment, including ovens, refrigerators, dishwashers, and food preparation machines
\nPerform routine preventive maintenance on kitchen\u00a0 and laundry equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity
\nTroubleshoot complex issues and implement effective solutions in a timely manner
\nInstall new kitchen equipment and ensure proper setup and functionality
\nRead and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams
\nAdhere to all safety protocols and regulations while working with electrical, gas, and plumbing systems
\nMaintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance activities, and inventory of parts and supplies
\nCollaborate with kitchen staff and management to minimize equipment downtime and optimize kitchen operations
\nStay updated on the latest technologies and advancements in commercial kitchen equipment
\nProvide technical guidance and training to kitchen staff on proper equipment usage and basic maintenance
\nConduct energy efficiency assessments on kitchen equipment and recommend upgrades or replacements to improve sustainability and reduce operational costs
\nDevelop and maintain a preventive maintenance schedule for all kitchen equipment to minimize unexpected breakdowns and extend equipment lifespan
\nCoordinate with suppliers and vendors for ordering replacement parts and new equipment as needed
\nAssist in the development of kitchen equipment budgets by providing input on repair costs, replacement needs, and lifecycle projections
\nParticipate in ongoing professional development and training to stay current with the latest advancements in commercial kitchen equipment technology and repair techniques<\/p>\n

Qualifications<\/p>\n
High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or technical certification in kitchen\u00a0 and laundry equipment repair preferred
\nMinimum of 2-3 years of experience in commercial kitchen equipment repair and maintenance
\nProven expertise in troubleshooting and repairing various types of kitchen equipment
\nStrong knowledge of electrical, gas, and plumbing systems as they relate to kitchen equipment
\nAbility to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams
\nExcellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
\nFamiliarity with food safety and sanitation standards
\nKnowledge of local health and safety regulations in , Zambia
\nRelevant certifications in gas fitting, electrical work, or appliance repair (preferred)
\nBasic computer skills for record-keeping and inventory management
\nStrong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
\nPhysical ability to lift heavy equipment and work in various positions (standing, kneeling, reaching)
\nWillingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed<\/p>\n
