\nJOB OPPORTUNITY: CHIEF ACCOUNTANTLOCATION: SOLWEZI
\nKestria Zambia is recruiting on behalf of a reputable client in the mining\/quarrying sector seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Accountant to join their Finance team in Solwezi.<\/p>\n
Role Overview:
\nThe successful candidate will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Finance Department, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with statutory obligations, and effective financial management.<\/p>\n
Key Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
Oversee finance operations, ensuring timely payments, reconciliations, and reporting.
\nPrepare monthly management accounts and annual financial statements.
\nDevelop and monitor budgets and forecasts.
\nEnsure compliance with statutory requirements (ZRA, NHIMA, NAPSA).
\nManage payables, receivables, and cashbook reconciliations.
\nMaintain the Fixed Assets Register and reconcile tax accounts.
\nSupervise, mentor, and appraise finance staff.
\nReview and approve invoices, journals, and payments.
\nSupport internal, external, and statutory audits.
\nLiaise with key stakeholders, including regulatory bodies and service providers.<\/p>\n
Accounting & Auditing<\/p>\n
Requirements:<\/p>\n
Grade 12 Certificate (Credit or better in Maths & English)
\nBachelor\u2019s degree in accounting
\nProfessional qualification (ACCA, ZICA, CIMA)
\nQualifications must be ZAQA certified
\nPaid-up ZICA member
\nMinimum 3 years\u2019 relevant experience
\nExperience in mining\/quarry sector added advantage<\/p>\n
Key Skills:
\nStrong analytical ability, attention to detail, integrity, leadership, and proficiency in MS Office and accounting systems.
