\nEMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY
\nPOSITION: CONSULAR ASSISTANT
\nDuration of Employment:The initial contract is for two (2) years\u00a0(dependent upon successful completion of a three (3) months probation period). Renewal will be contingent on satisfactory performance and exigencies of duty.<\/p>\n
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
\nServing as the Consular Assistant, the candidate will be handling the following tasks:<\/p>\n
Report directly to the Immigration Attach\u00e9
\nFacilitate processing of Electronic Travel Authorizations (ETAs), passports and other travel-related documentation in accordance with established regulations
\nSubmit consular documents to the Immigration Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and other relevant authorities
\nProvide accurate information and guidance in response to public inquiries regarding travel requirements and consular procedures
\nCollection of consular fees and issuance of official receipts for all processed services
\nAssist in receiving Mission visitors
\nAny other duties as may be assigned<\/p>\n
REQUIREMENTS
\nApplicants must satisfy the qualifications listed below, failure to do so may result in the rejection of the application:<\/p>\n
A. General Requirements:<\/p>\n
Must be a Zambian Citizen or a Permanent Resident with a valid permit<\/p>\n
B. Education:<\/p>\n
Must possess a Diploma preferably in Diplomacy & International Relations<\/p>\n
Primary & Secondary Schooling (K-12)
\nC. Experience:<\/p>\n
Must possess at least two (2) years working experience preferably in a similar institution<\/p>\n
D. Relevant Documentation:<\/p>\n
Valid Police Clearance Certificate<\/p>\n
E. Age:<\/p>\n
Must be above 25 years<\/p>\n
F. Language:<\/p>\n
English proficiency is required (both oral and written)<\/p>\n
G. Skills and Abilities:<\/p>\n
Customer care skills
\nComputer literacy
\nAbility to work under pressure and without supervision
\nAttention to detail & high level confidentiality<\/p>\n
H. Job Knowledge:<\/p>\n
Must have general knowledge about Kenya especially on issues of immigration, tourism,\u00a0\u00a0education\u00a0and culture<\/p>\n
