Our client, a regional powerhouse, providing high-quality and resilient agriculture inputs is looking to recruit Field Technicians around Zambia. The successful candidates will support farmers with technical advice, training and field assessments while driving customer engagement, order generation, and effective trade execution.
\nResponsibilities<\/p>\n
Technical Support and Advice: Guide crop management, pest control, soil health, and sustainable farming practices.
\nTraining and Workshops:\u00a0Organize and conduct training sessions and workshops for farmers to educate them on new techniques and technologies.
\nSelection, Installation and management of Demonstration plots to the standards as set by the Company
\nConducting annual field days in designated locations
\nField Assessments:\u00a0Conduct regular visits to farms to assess crop conditions, soil quality, and overall farm management.
\nData Collection and reporting:\u00a0Collect data on agricultural practices, crop yields, and market trends. Prepare reports for management and stakeholders.
\nCollaboration with Stakeholders: Work with local agricultural departments, NGOs, and research institutions to implement programs and initiatives.
\nCommunity Engagement:\u00a0Foster relationships with farmers and local communities to understand their needs and challenges.
\nProblem-Solving:\u00a0Address any challenges faced by farmers and provide actionable solutions.
\nCustomer Service-Generating orders from Agro-dealers and Farmers. Attending to complaints
\nTrade Execution: Instore branding of posters, calendars, brochures etc.
\nSupervise POS merchandising and displays in key retail areas.<\/p>\n
Requirements<\/p>\n
Diploma in Agriculture; Degree is preferred
\nMinimum of 2 years\u2019 experience in field technical support, agricultural field operations or a related role.
\nMembership with Agricultural Institute of Zambia (AIZ).
\nKnowledge of crop management, pest control, and soil conservation practices.
\nAbility to collect and analyze agricultural data effectively.
\nGood communication and interpersonal skills for working with farmers and teams.
\nProficiency in the use of agricultural tools and field equipment.
\nStrong attention to detail and ability to work independently under field conditions.
\nWillingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
\nStrong problem-solving skills and training skills sessions
\nAbility to work independently and as part of a team.
\nExcellent communication and interpersonal skills.
\nValid driver\u2019s license and willingness to travel extensively to client fields areas.
\nProficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
\nCommitment to following health and safety regulations.<\/p>\n
