We know we\u2019ve got big challenges to solve \u2013 we hope you\u2019ll be part of the solution.<br \/>\nCorteva Agriscience is seeking an experienced\u00a0Production Location Manager, to join our Seed Operations team.<br \/>\nAdvertise in Zambia<br \/>\nPosition Overview:<br \/>\nThe successful candidate will be responsible for safe, effective and efficient management of all the plant and field production processes in Zambia. The candidate will plan for production resources (manpower, machinery, equipment and tools, facilities and raw materials) needed to develop high quality seed on-time to meet distribution, delivery and stock transport schedules. He\/she will manage internal and external relationships; and manage both plant and field production operations through subordinate staff having full accountabilities in their respective areas. The candidate will provide leadership and decisions to staff on operational questions related to their areas and responsibilities. The successful candidate will lead the site and achieve all production, quality, safety, and delivery targets.<\/p>\n<p>Responsibilities and Duties:<\/p>\n<p>Achievement of annual plan and budget business targets.<br \/>\nChampion Business Improvement and Productivity Initiatives<br \/>\nLeadership and Manager Accountability<br \/>\nAchievement of seed quality plan standards<br \/>\nSafety and Risk Management<br \/>\nTactical Planning (6 \u2013 12 months)<br \/>\nCross function collaboration with SPD, SPRC, finance and commercial teams.<\/p>\n<p>Qualifications &amp; Skills:<\/p>\n<p>BA or BS (or equivalent), in operations, agriculture business or engineering<br \/>\n7-10 years experience of progressive experience in manufacturing environment and supervisory experience<br \/>\nStrong communication skills<br \/>\nDemonstrated application of human resources \/ people management practices<br \/>\nAbility to lead leaders and influence\/collaborate cross-functionally<br \/>\nUnderstanding of Lean production systems<br \/>\nUnderstanding of advanced maintenance concepts, Root Cause Failure Analysis, and risk-based reliability methodology<br \/>\nUnderstanding of change management principles<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<br \/>\nAchievement of annual plan and budget business targets.<\/p>\n<p>Identify and interpret local issues and trends<br \/>\nDevelop annual production and workforce projections<br \/>\nAssess and manage resource allocation (people, equipment, capacity, etc.)<br \/>\nLead and implement local production development plan; and provide input to annual and\u00a0 CY+1 year Production Operation plans<br \/>\nAlign local plans and goals with Regional Production Operations<br \/>\nCommunicate plans to plant employees and team and align individual goals<br \/>\nDevelop and submit capital &amp; operational budgets for approval<br \/>\nMonitor and approve expenditures<br \/>\nManage and communicated plan and priority changes<br \/>\nIdentify and resolve problems with the help as needed from the Supply Chain Manager, S&amp;OP Manager<br \/>\nEngage in shop floor activities<\/p>\n<p>Champion Business Improvement and Productivity Initiatives<\/p>\n<p>Identify and prioritize productivity improvement opportunities with support from the Continuous Improvement Team<br \/>\nSponsor projects, team members, timelines and deliverables to ensure productivity objectives are met<br \/>\nImplement best productivity practices at plant and ensure these practices are sustained<br \/>\nInitiate plans and processes which minimize production cost through effective utilization of human capital, equipment, facilities, material and capital<br \/>\nMonitor Key Process Indicators (KPI) to ensure production processes are on target to meet our business objectives<\/p>\n<p>Leadership and Manager Accountability<\/p>\n<p>Direct responsibility for Production Supervisors and Production Employees<br \/>\nCoach, support and develop employees in a manner that fosters effective collaboration and teamwork, demonstrating and modeling the Core Values.<br \/>\nEnable and encourage direct reports to leverage their full potential and achieve business results.<br \/>\nEstablish and support individual and team performance goals that are attainable and aligned with business strategy<br \/>\nRecognize and value employees through ongoing recognition of individual and team results<br \/>\nHold employees accountable for achieving performance results and demonstrating work behaviors that promote collaboration and teamwork in an effective manner while demonstrating and modeling the Core Values<br \/>\nActively encourage and support employee and career development; coach staff in stretch assignments and skill development critical to employees\u2019 jobs and overall career objectives.<\/p>\n<p>Achievement of seed quality plan standards<\/p>\n<p>Oversee Plant Operations Manager who is directly responsible for; timing, flow, seed handing techniques, to ensure quality plan standards are met.<br \/>\nEnsure quality management system is in place and effective<br \/>\nEnsure regulatory compliance (safety, wage\/hour laws, etc), adherence to quality and QMS standards, plant\/field policies and standard operating procedures<\/p>\n<p>Safety and Risk Management<\/p>\n<p>Promote health, safety, and environmentally friendly practices<br \/>\nEnsure Process Safety Management is implemented and fully executed<br \/>\nModel and enforce Lifesaving rules<br \/>\nFacilitate audits and outcomes and action plans<br \/>\nFoster a Safety Culture<br \/>\nEnsure the environmental regulatory requirements are met<br \/>\nLead efforts to properly manage injuries and drive incidents to zero<\/p>\n<p>Tactical Planning (6 \u2013 12 months)<\/p>\n<p>Develop and monitor in conjunction with location management, local grower and vendor requirements<br \/>\nNetwork with business improvement team to identify focus areas for production and process improvement<br \/>\nParticipate and lead assigned E2W projects that can leverage personal skills, and provide an opportunity for development<br \/>\nLead the development of local KPI\u2019s and ensure analysis is conducted<br \/>\nNetwork with maintenance manager to assess opportunities for asset upgrades via capital or operation expenses<br \/>\nNetwork with Supply Chain leaders to establish distribution goals, and communication plans<br \/>\nReview, communicate, and monitor progress on production operations goals<br \/>\nLead the review of operations and fixed cost projections and implement corrective actions to stay within budget<br \/>\nCreate annual Production Operation plan.<br \/>\nLead the development and review of the capital plans to aid in recommending items to include in the 3-year plan, and 1-year repair and maintenance plan<br \/>\nLead the development and review of the location\u2019s long-term acreage strategy and plans<br \/>\nLead the asset utilization strategy to improve autonomous maintenance through the EAM system and increase Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).<\/p>\n<p>Benefits \u2013 How We\u2019ll Support You:<\/p>\n<p>Numerous development opportunities offered to build your skills<br \/>\nBe part of a company with a higher purpose and contribute to making the world a better place<br \/>\nHealth benefits for you and your family on your first day of employment<br \/>\nExcellent parental leave which includes a minimum of 16 weeks for mother and father<br \/>\nCheck out life at Corteva!\u00a0www.linkedin.com\/company\/corteva\/life<\/p>\n<p>Sharing is Caring!
