An established non-governmental organisation (NGO) is implementing a project aimed at strengthening women\u2019s access to electoral justice during the 2026 electoral cycle. The project will establish and operate Legal Aid Clinics in selected districts, providing legal information, advisory services, and support to women candidates and other stakeholders.
\nThe organisation invites applications from suitably qualified and motivated individuals to fill the position of\u00a0Legal Assistant \/ Paralegal Level I\u00a0on a fixed-term basis of seven (7) months.
\nDuty Stations (Preference will be given to residents of the following districts):
\nRufunsa, Lufwanyama, Masaiti, Mambwe, Nyimba, Mwinilunga, Kalumbila, Luano, and Serenje.
\nKey Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
Provide basic legal information and guidance on electoral laws, nomination procedures, and campaign regulations.
\nSupport the operation of district Legal Aid Clinics, including client intake and case documentation.
\nAssist in handling complaints and referrals to relevant institutions.
\nSupport outreach and awareness activities to promote access to legal services.
\nMaintain accurate records and contribute to periodic reports.
\nWork closely with project teams to ensure timely and effective service delivery.<\/p>\n
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:<\/p>\n
Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Law from a reputable institution.
\nCandidates who have attempted the Zambia Institute of Advanced Legal Education (ZIALE) examinations will have an added advantage.
\nAt least one (1) year of relevant experience in legal aid, community work, or a related area.
\nFull knowledge and clear understanding of the Electoral \u00a0Process Act is a mandatory requirement..
\nBasic knowledge of Information Technology, including Microsoft Office applications.
\nStrong communication and interpersonal skills.
\nAbility to work with diverse communities, including women, youth, and persons with disabilities.
\nFluency in English and at least one local language spoken in the duty station.
\nKnowledge of the rights of women, youths, and persons with disabilities in Civic Participation<\/p>\n

Duration:
