The Higher Education Loans and Scholarships Board (HELSB) is a statutory body established by the Higher Education Loans and Scholarships Act No. 31 of 2016 to provide for the administration, granting, investment, payment, and recovery of student loans; provide for the administration and granting of scholarships; facilitate the mobilization of financial resources for loans and scholarships, and provide for matters connected with or incidental to the foregoing.
\nHELSB is inviting competent, enthusiastic, and qualified candidates to apply for the underlisted positions to be based in\u00a0Lusaka, Southern Province (Choma), North-Western Province (Solwezi), and\u00a0Western Province (Mongu)\u00a0on permanent and pensionable terms.
\nStores Assistant (Lusaka) \u2013 (1) Position
\na. Job Purpose<\/p>\n
Reporting to Accountant-Administration, undertakes implementation of policies and strategies that ensure effective utilization of financial resources in order to ensure prudent utilization and accountability of funds.
\nb. Principal Accountabilities<\/p>\n
Geographic Reference<\/p>\n
Undertakes effectively receipting and inspection of goods to ensure their conformity to specifications.
\nUndertakes effective safe custody of goods, supplies, and assets in order to protect public resources from abuse and pilferage;
\nUndertakes timely distribution of goods to ensure their availability and to meet the needs of end users;
\nUndertaking periodic inventory accounting and maintenance of goods in order to safeguard public assets
\nUndertaking effective maintenance of all records for the stores in order to ensure accountability and facilitate decision-making
\nUndertaking timely preparation of stores\u2019 monthly reports in order to facilitate informed decision making;
\nUndertaking effective identification and protection of obsolete, redundant, scrap, and surplus goods in order to facilitate their disposal.
\nUndertakes timely development of work plans in order to facilitate monitoring and evaluation of performance.<\/p>\n
c. Qualifications and Experience<\/p>\n
Grade Twelve (12) School Certificate with five (5) credits or better, including Mathematics and English.
\nDiploma in Stores Management or its equivalent.
\nMinimum of one (1) year related job experience.
\nMember of Zambia Institute of Purchasing and Supply
\nProficiency in MS Office and MS Excel.<\/p>\n
d. Skills and Attributes<\/p>\n
Able to write technical and analytical reports.
\nFluent in English communication.
\nPossesses confidentiality skills, interpersonal skills, integrity, tact\/diplomacy, and computer literacy.<\/p>\n
