Established under the Water Resources Management Act No. 21 of 2011, the Water Resources Management Authority (WARMA) is mandated to regulate and manage the utilisation of water resources in Zambia in a sustainable, equitable, and integrated manner.<\/p>\n

\nLABORATORY TECHNICIAN (01 POSITION)
\nGrade:\u00a0WRM 06Department:\u00a0Water Resource Management & InformationReports to:\u00a0Inspector \u2013 EnvironmentLocation:\u00a0Lusaka- Kafue Catchment<\/p>\n
Job Purpose:
\nTo carry out water sampling and laboratory analysis to determine the quality and its suitability for use.<\/p>\n
Key Responsibilities:
\n\u2022 Collect water and sediment samples for biological and physio-chemical laboratory analysis.\u2022 Testing of water and sediment samples for biological and physio-chemical in the field and Laboratory.\u2022 Ensure timely cleaning and clearing of work space in the laboratory in order to maintain a conducive working environment.\u2022 Prepare and submit comprehensive technical report on water quality, sediment and biological monitoring results on a regular basis.\u2022 Maintenance and calibration of laboratory and field equipment.\u2022 Maintain and update laboratory inventory.\u2022 Assist in quality control\/quality assurance in laboratory and field measurements.\u2022 Assist in preparation laboratory manuals, standards and guidelines\u2022 Implement quality management system in the laboratory.\u2022 Performs any other duties that may be delegated from time to time by supervisor.<\/p>\n
Qualifications and Experience:
\n\u2022 Grade 12 Certificate with Credit and above in Mathematics and English.\u2022 Diploma in Laboratory Science Technology, Environmental Technology, or any related science field from a recognised institution\u2022 Member of a relevant professional body.\u2022 1 year working experience in water related activities.<\/p>\n
