Reporting to the Production Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating the delivery of all Shovel training requirements across the Lumwana Operations to upskill the shovel operators ensuring they perform their roles in accordance with site, industry standards and Barrick policies and procedures.
\nYour duties will include but are not limited to the following:\u00a0<\/p>\n
Identify training needs for all Shovel operators.
\nCoordinate training delivery on site for all Shovel Operators.
\nTrain\/assess and work in consultation with a mentor\/subject matter expert.
\nSupervise mentors and review training progress at regular intervals.
\nRecord accurate details of trainees and the units they have demonstrated competency on.
\nManage all shovel operator assessment activities.
\nIdentify risks in the work area and use of correct controls.
\nMentor other trainers and ensure effective performance feedback is provided.
\nIdentifies opportunities to reduce costs without compromising outcomes.
\nWorks with individuals to identify areas for development, understand need for improvement, and set specific and appropriate development goals.
\nProvide the necessary training support to enable all mining operations to perform at an optimum level
\nWork with the Senior Trainers and Crew coordinators to achieve training targets in conjunction with the daily, weekly and monthly mining plans that correspond with the annual production target
\nParticipate in the development and promotion of the departmental continuous improvement programs.
\nDevelopment of site-specific training manuals and procedures<\/p>\n
To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:
\n\u00a0<\/p>\n
Cert IV Training and assessment (or equivalent)
\nMinimum of five (5) years\u2019 experience in Shovel Trainers role in mining environment
\nMust demonstrate strong competency in electric shovel operations, including safe and efficient trailing cable management.
\nMust be hands-on trainer with the ability to coach operators to improve productivity, equipment care, and safety standards in a large-scale open pit environment.
\nExperience on Komatsu PC7000 and PC8000 equipment is highly desirable.
\nPrevious supervisory experience in a developing mine is highly desirable.
\nProven experience of operating and training on ultra-class hydraulic and electric shovels, including both face shovel and backhoe configurations, is essential<\/p>\n
