\nPosition Overview
\nThe Workshop Manager will oversee the daily operations of the automotive workshop, ensuring efficiency, safety, and quality in all technical activities. This role requires a hands-on leader with strong technical expertise, proven management skills, and the ability to coordinate multiple teams. The Workshop Manager will be responsible for supervising mechanics, managing workflow, maintaining equipment, and ensuring customer satisfaction through timely and reliable service delivery.
\nKey Responsibilities
\nOperational Management<\/p>\n
Plan, organize, and supervise all workshop activities to ensure timely completion of repairs and maintenance.
\nAllocate tasks and monitor workflow to optimize resource utilization.
\nMaintain workshop equipment, tools, and facilities in peak condition.
\nEnsure accurate job costing, invoicing, and reporting of workshop activities.<\/p>\n
Technical Oversight<\/p>\n
Provide hands-on support in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles.
\nEnsure adherence to technical standards, manufacturer guidelines, and safety regulations.
\nImplement preventive maintenance schedules and quality control checks.
\nOversee procurement of spare parts and consumables, ensuring cost efficiency and availability.<\/p>\n
Team Leadership<\/p>\n
Lead, train, and mentor workshop staff to enhance skills and performance.
\nFoster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
\nConduct performance evaluations and recommend development plans.<\/p>\n
Safety & Compliance<\/p>\n
Enforce strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies.
\nEnsure all operations meet regulatory and company standards.
\nMaintain accurate records of work performed, inspections, and certifications.<\/p>\n
Customer & Stakeholder Engagement<\/p>\n
Liaise with clients, suppliers, and internal departments to ensure smooth operations.
\nProvide technical advice and updates on project progress.
\nUphold the company\u2019s reputation for reliability, quality, and professionalism.<\/p>\n
Qualifications & Experience<\/p>\n
Diploma or Degree in Mechanical\/Automotive Engineering or related field.
\nMinimum 5\u20137 years of workshop management experience in the automotive industry.
\nStrong technical expertise with hands-on repair and maintenance skills.
\nProven leadership and team management experience.
\nExcellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
\nKnowledge of safety standards and regulatory compliance in Zambia.<\/p>\n
