Job Overview
\nThe Camp Manager will be responsible for the overall management, performance, and operations of the camp, ensuring delivery of an exceptional guest experience, strong team leadership, effective financial control, and full compliance with African Parks standards and conservation principles.
\nDuties and responsibilities:
\nCamp Operations & Guest Experience<\/p>\n
Oversee the day-to-day running of the camp, ensuring smooth and efficient operations
\nEnsure exceptional guest experience from arrival to departure
\nHost and engage with guests, maintaining a balance between service and privacy
\nHandle and resolve guest complaints promptly and professionally
\nEnsure high standards of cleanliness, presentation, and service across the camp
\nOversee guest activities and ensure coordination with guiding and operations teams<\/p>\n
Staff Management & Leadership<\/p>\n
Lead, manage, and motivate all camp staff
\nAllocate duties and supervise performance across departments (housekeeping, kitchen, guiding support, etc.)
\nEnsure staff adherence to policies, SOPs, and safety standards
\nIdentify training needs and support staff development
\nPromote a positive team culture aligned with African Parks values<\/p>\n
Financial & Stock Control<\/p>\n
Manage camp budgets and ensure cost control
\nOversee procurement, stock management, and inventory systems
\nImplement controls to minimize wastage, theft, and misuse of resources
\nEnsure accurate record keeping and reporting<\/p>\n
Maintenance & Logistics<\/p>\n
Oversee camp maintenance and infrastructure upkeep
\nEnsure all camp equipment, vehicles, and systems are functional and well maintained
\nCoordinate repairs and maintenance in a timely manner
\nManage logistics related to supplies, fuel, and camp operations<\/p>\n
Health, Safety & Security<\/p>\n
Ensure the safety and security of guests, staff, and camp property
\nImplement and monitor safety procedures, including night security (e.g. scout escorts)
\nEnsure compliance with health and safety standards
\nRespond effectively to emergencies<\/p>\n
Environmental & Conservation Responsibility<\/p>\n
Ensure camp operations align with conservation and environmental guidelines
\nPromote eco-friendly practices including waste management and responsible resource use
\nEnsure respect for wildlife and surrounding ecosystems
\nSupport conservation messaging to guests<\/p>\n
Reporting & Administration<\/p>\n
Prepare and submit regular operational reports
\nMaintain proper documentation of camp activities, stock, and incidents
\nLiaise with Park Management and other departments
\nEnsure compliance with internal policies and procedures<\/p>\n

Minimum Requirements<\/p>\n
Minimum 5 years\u2019 experience in managing a safari camp or similar hospitality environment
\nExperience working in remote locations
\nStrong leadership and people management skills
\nExcellent planning and organizational skills
\nFinancial management and stock control experience
\nStrong problem-solving ability and initiative
\nGood communication and interpersonal skills
\nComputer literate
\nFluent in English (Lozi will be an added advantage)<\/p>\n
