The Technical Education, Vocational and Entrepreneurship Training Authority (TEVETA) was established under the Technical Education, Vocational and Entrepreneurship Training (TEVET) Act No. 13 of 1998, as amended by the TEVET (Amendment) Act No. 11 of 2005. TEVETA is mandated to regulate, monitor, and coordinate technical education, vocational, and entrepreneurship training in Zambia, in consultation with industry, employers, workers, and other key stakeholders.

\nACCOUNTS OFFICER (1 POSITION)
\n2.1 Job Purpose<\/p>\n
To support the financial operations of the Authority by ensuring accurate processing, recording, and reporting of financial transactions in compliance with established procedures.
\n2.2 Key Responsibilities
\na)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Process payments on various platforms including online through banking systems.
\nb)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Ensuring that all payments and receipts have adequate supporting documentation
\nc)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Ensure that all the transactions, both payments and receipts, are coded properly and posted accurately in Sage Evolution accounting system on daily basis.
\nd)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Maintain and safeguard the petty cash.
\ne)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Safeguard and maintain proper filing system for all accounting documents.
\nf)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Ensuring that all duly authorised payments and receipts vouchers are in safe custody.
\ng)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Ensures accurate receipting for all monies of the Authority and daily banking of all monies received.
\nh)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Any other duties may be assigned by the supervisor.
\n2.3 Required Skills and Competencies
\na)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Knowledge of financial and accounting procedures
\nb)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Familiarity with public financial regulations
\nc)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (SAGE Evolution)
\nd)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Strong analytical and numerical skills
\ne)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Attention to detail and time management
\nf)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Integrity and accountability
\n2.4 Qualifications and Experience<\/p>\n
a)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Grade 12 Certificate with five (5) credits including English and Mathematics
\nb)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0ZICA Technician qualification
\nc)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Valid membership\/practicing license with Zambian Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA)
\nd)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Minimum of two (2) years \u2018post qualifying experience in similar role
\ne)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Proven experience using SAGE Evolution accounting software
