Purpose
\nResponsible for identifying staff training development needs and for planning, organizing, and conducting appropriate training and assessments for engineering and operational employees across the site to achieve maximum competence, maintain, and improve the efficiency of Mechanical maintenance and operations.
\n\u00a0
\nKey Responsibilities
\nThis position will be required to adhere to all relevant requirements, policies, procedures and legal regulations pertaining to health, safety, environment, and quality, as well as finance, human resources, and any other regulations as required by the company and relevant to the level of the role and responsibilities of the function. An individual must be able to perform each essential function\/duty satisfactorily, including:<\/p>\n
Liaise with relevant sections within the engineering department to determine mechanical training and development needs in line with KMP\u2019s short- and long-term operational needs
\nLiaise with the planning section to determine training needs related to machine breakdowns and defects.
\nReview and determine the needs and competence levels of employees.
\nConsolidate a Mechanical technical training plan to meet all operational and maintenance needs and deliver training to bridge gaps in employees\u2019 skills and knowledge.
\nDevelop mechanical training packages (both theory and practical) according to identified training needs and maintain them to acceptable standards.
\nUpdating existing Mechanical training packages
\nSelect appropriate training methods or activities for implementation.
\nLiaise with trainees\u2019 supervisors on training schedules and ensure timely delivery of training.
\nAssess\/evaluate instructional effectiveness and determine the impact of training on learners\u2019 skills and KPIs through Planned Tasks Observations
\nCarry out training needs identification during breakdowns, shutdowns, and planned maintenance jobs to formulate training programs to close the gap (lacking skills and knowledge) in employees
\nMaintain and manage training records and training matrices for all trainees in the approved Training\/Learning management system
\nDevelop and maintain productive relations and effective communication with stakeholders to establish training needs and report on training progress.
\nPractices safe work habits and follows general safety procedures
\nEnsure that company procedures and safety regulations are reinforced to minimize accidents and optimize production.
\nMaintaining an appropriate reporting schedule as determined by the Senior Specialist, Technical
\nAny other duties as may be reasonably requested by the supervisor in line with effective operations of the Training Department.<\/p>\n

\nQualifications<\/p>\n
Minimum Technician or Technology Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
\nTechnical Teacher Certificate \/ Diploma in Teaching Methodology from a recognized institution.
\nAll academic qualifications and results must be verified by the Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA).<\/p>\n

\nExperience<\/p>\n
A minimum of 5 years\u2019 Mechanical work experience in the Mining Industry
\nMinimum 2 years\u2019 experience in the Training and Development field, preferably in a Mining environment.<\/p>\n

High level of communication skills and the ability to present ideas clearly and concisely
\nGood ability to interact with team members and trainees effectively
\nGood ability to report and interact with senior maintenance and operations leadership effectively
\nAbility to identify and suggest changes to maintenance and operational practices
\nGood at implementing changes in training practice<\/p>\n
Systematic monitoring and assessment skills<\/p>\n
