THP-Z works to end chronic hunger and poverty by pioneering sustainable, grassroots, women-centered strategies and advocating for their widespread adoption. THP-Z implements projects through the Epicenter Strategy, mobilizing rural communities of 5,000\u201315,000 people into dynamic centers of action to meet their own basic needs and achieve sustainable self-reliance.<br \/>\nThis initiative is implementing a Health System Strengthening \u2013 Integrated Maternal, Newborn, Child Health and Nutrition (IMNCHN) Project, delivered as a consortium between The Hunger Project\u2013Zambia (THP-Z) and Save the Children international-Zambia. The project focuses on improving nutrition and health outcomes for mothers, infants, and young children in Mongu District, Western Province. The project is supported by the Latter-Day Saints Church (LDSC), and works in collaboration with the Ministry of Health. The consortium initiatives strengthen health systems, empower communities, and advance integrated, women-centered strategies to reduce malnutrition and improve maternal and child well-being.<br \/>\n1. Project Officer \u2013 Integrated Health, Nutrition &amp; Agriculture<br \/>\nLocation:\u00a0Mongu, Zambia<br \/>\nReports to:\u00a0Country Director throughPrograms Manger<br \/>\nSupervises:\u00a0Project Officer \u2013 Nutrition-Sensitive Agriculture<br \/>\nRole Purpose<br \/>\nProvide overall coordination and leadership for integrated interventions that strengthen maternal and child health outcomes through nutrition-sensitive agriculture, food processing, and community mobilization. Anchor the \u201cNutrition for Health\u201d pathway, ensuring equity for women and children while coordinating multi-sectoral planning and consortium delivery.<br \/>\nKey Responsibilities<\/p>\n<p>Lead \u201cTaste and Learn\u201d demonstrations to promote dietary diversity and micronutrient intake.<br \/>\nConvene \u201cOne Village, One Plan\u201d workshops to develop holistic Village Action Plans.<br \/>\nImplement gender-transformative training for men and women on equitable decision-making and resource allocation.<br \/>\nFacilitate the establishment and active participation of Community Savings &amp; Nutrition Groups (CSNGs), linking financial literacy to improved nutrition.<br \/>\nSupport the formal registration of women\u2019s groups to enhance access to government and private sector services.<br \/>\nDeliver capacity-building programs for women (leadership, governance, financial management, entrepreneurship) via community animators.<br \/>\nFacilitate linkages to social protection services for marginalized women.<br \/>\nEstablish Kick-Starter Centers of Nutritional Excellence integrating production, processing, entrepreneurship, and market access.<br \/>\nStrengthen multi-sectoral collaboration platforms for integrated nutrition planning.<br \/>\nLead network-based case finding and referral for women and children experiencing Moderate Acute Malnutrition (MAM) or maternal nutrition challenges.<br \/>\nAct as THP-Z\u2019s focal point with Save the Children International, ensuring harmonized planning, data sharing, and joint reporting.<br \/>\nRepresent THP-Z in consortium meetings, technical working groups, and joint monitoring visits.<br \/>\nSupervise and mentor the Agriculture Officer to ensure integrated delivery.<\/p>\n<p>Qualifications &amp; Experience<\/p>\n<p>Bachelor\u2019s degree in Public Health, Nutrition, Community Health, Development Studies, Agriculture with human nutrition, Social Work, or related field.<br \/>\nMinimum 3 years of experience in integrated health\/nutrition programming in rural contexts.<br \/>\nProven expertise in maternal, new born, and child health (MNCH), nutrition-sensitive agriculture, and community mobilization.<br \/>\nStrong experience in consortium coordination, donor reporting, and stakeholder engagement.<br \/>\nDemonstrated ability to lead gender-transformative and community-driven initiatives.<\/p>\n<p>Added Advantages<\/p>\n<p>Midwifery certification, clinical health, or maternal health background.<br \/>\nExperience with Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLAs) or Community Savings Groups.<br \/>\nProficiency in Lozi language.<br \/>\nPrior work experience in Western Province, Zambia.<br \/>\nFamiliarity with mobile data collection tools (KoboCollect, ODK).<\/p>\n<p>Note:\u00a0Must have a valid driver\u2019s licence and able to drive 4\u00d74<br \/>\n2. Project Officer \u2013 Nutrition-Sensitive Agriculture<br \/>\nLocation:\u00a0Mongu, Zambia<br \/>\nReports to:\u00a0Project Officer \u2013 Integrated Health, Nutrition &amp; Agriculture<br \/>\nRole Purpose<br \/>\nSupport households in adopting integrated production systems that enhance food security, dietary diversity, and income generation. Ensure agriculture contributes directly to maternal and child health outcomes while coordinating with consortium partners for integrated delivery.<br \/>\nKey Responsibilities<\/p>\n<p>Deliver regenerative agriculture training via animators, applying THP\u2019s Vision, Commitment, and Action (VCA) model.<br \/>\nPromote rearing of small livestock (chickens, goats, rabbits, fish, quails).<br \/>\nFacilitate cultivation of fruit trees and indigenous vegetables to improve micronutrient intake.<br \/>\nSupport sustainable harvesting and consumption of non-wood forest food products.<br \/>\nConduct training on post-harvest handling, storage, and value addition.<br \/>\nPromote production and consumption of homemade fortified foods tailored to maternal and child health needs.<br \/>\nWork with CSNGs to integrate agriculture into income-generating and nutrition-focused activities.<br \/>\nEstablish demonstration plots and organize farmer field days showcasing regenerative and climate-smart practices.<br \/>\nCollaborate closely with the Health &amp; Nutrition team to ensure agriculture interventions empower women and strengthen household nutrition.<br \/>\nSupport the referral system by ensuring at-risk households identified through case finding benefit from nutrition-sensitive agriculture interventions.<br \/>\nCoordinate joint field activities, farmer field days, and household-level interventions with Save the Children teams.<br \/>\nShare agricultural activity data with consortium partners for inclusion in joint reports.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Qualifications &amp; Experience<\/p>\n<p>Diploma in Agriculture, Agronomy, Agricultural Extension, Animal Science, or related field.<br \/>\nMinimum 3 years of experience in smallholder agriculture, nutrition-sensitive farming, or rural livelihoods programming.<br \/>\nPractical knowledge of livestock rearing, horticulture, and post-harvest management.<br \/>\nExperience in community training and participatory extension approaches.<\/p>\n<p>Added Advantages<\/p>\n<p>Bachelor\u2019s degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Agricultural Extension, community development, Animal Science, or related field.<br \/>\nTraining in Climate-Smart Agriculture or Conservation Agriculture.<br \/>\nExperience with community animator models.<br \/>\nProficiency in Lozi language.<br \/>\nPrior work experience in Western Province, Zambia.<br \/>\nExperience with mobile data collection tools (KoboCollect, ODK).<\/p>\n<p>Note:\u00a0Must have a valid rider\u2019s licence for motorbike<br \/>\nInclusivity Statement<br \/>\nTHP-Z is committed to equity and inclusion.
