WHAT IS ON OFFER
\nAlfred H Knight has an exciting opportunity for Head Of Department-Lubricant Testing to join our team in Zambia. In this role, you will be responsible for the day to day operations of the Lubricant Testing laboratory, ensuring efficiency and quality of service befitting a world class organization. Your main duties shall include;<\/p>\n
Inspecting and approving test reports received from technical advisers and report results to clients,
\nEnsuring that all methods are documented and current with the necessary validating data.
\nConducting internal quality audits with the aim of maintaining the ISO accreditation and identify areas that need improvements (quality or throughput) within the Laboratory.
\nEstablishing and effecting weekly, monthly and quarterly analytical maintenance\/calibration plans of both internal and external equipment service.
\nEstablishing and maintaining a critical spares list for all Analytical instruments and ensure availability of stock when needed.
\nSupervising and monitoring proficiency testing programs.
\nEffective utilisation of resources within the laboratory and controlling departmental costs.
\nOrganising daily team workload to meet agreed schedules of reporting to clients<\/p>\n

\nDO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?
\nTo be successful at Alfred H Knight in this role, you will need to display the following:
\nREQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND WORK EXPERIENCE
\nRequired Competencies<\/p>\n
Knowledge of Lubricants & Fuels Testing techniques both Instrumental and classical methods
\nDecision Making, Trouble Shooting, problem solving and Report writing skills.
\nQuality Control techniques in Lubricant & Fuels testing Laboratory
\nKnowledge in Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)
\nKnowledge of ISO 17025
\nAnalytical methods development and validation<\/p>\n
Required Work Experience<\/p>\n
A minimum of 3 years\u2019 experience in Lubricants and Fuels
\nA minimum of 2 years management experience<\/p>\n
Required Qualifications<\/p>\n
A degree in a Lab discipline or related disciplines
\nCertifications in ISO 17025 or any Lubricant testing certification will be an added advantage.<\/p>\n
