Job Summary
\nWe are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Handyman with strong competency in civil maintenance, water reticulation systems, welding, and mechanical support functions. The role supports infrastructure maintenance across multiple operational sites, ensuring buildings, water systems, and equipment operate efficiently through preventive and corrective maintenance. The ideal candidate must demonstrate strong technical troubleshooting ability, high safety awareness, and the capability to work independently with minimal supervision.
\nKey Responsibilities
\n1. Civil & Structural Works

\n\u2013 Perform civil works including concrete repairs, masonry, paving, foundations, drain channels, earthworks, and reinstatement of damaged structures.<\/p>\n
\u2013 Undertake repairs on structural elements such as columns, beams, platforms, plinths, bollards, and protective housings.
\n\u2013 Maintain drainage systems, culverts, gutters, soakaways, and general site water management infrastructure.
\n\u2013 Conduct roofing, carpentry, ceiling, partitioning, and door frame\/lock repairs.
\n\u00a0
\n2. Plumbing & Water Reticulation Systems
\n\u2013 Install, maintain, and repair water supply networks, valves, pressure regulators, booster pumps, geysers, wastewater systems, and plumbing components.<\/p>\n
\u2013 Diagnose and repair leakages, blockages, pump failures, abnormal pressure\/flow issues, and other plumbing faults.
\n\u2013 Maintain water storage tanks, float valves, drain lines, chlorination systems, and support water quality\u2013related tasks.
\n\u2013 Ensure plumbing work complies with water standards, pressure ratings, and safety protocols.

\n3. Welding, Fabrication & Metal Works
\n\u2013 Perform welding (ARC\/MIG\/TIG), cutting, brazing, and fabrication of supports, frames, guards, brackets, and pipe structures.
\n\u2013 Conduct preventive and corrective repairs on metal structures, rails, ramps, protective cages, and related assets.
\n\u2013 Fabricate or modify components as required.
\n\u00a0
\n4. Mechanical & Material-Handling Equipment Support
\n\u2013 Maintain and troubleshoot manual and semi-hydraulic pallet jacks, including hydraulic repairs, fork alignment, wheel replacement, and lubrication.
\n\u2013 Assist with minor mechanical repairs on gates, hinges, rollers, small pumps, and equipment housings.<\/p>\n
5. Preventive & Corrective Maintenance
\n\u2013 Execute preventive maintenance on civil, plumbing, water, and structural systems.
\n\u2013 Attend to emergency repairs and maintenance requests promptly.
\n\u2013 Maintain accurate job cards, checklists, and documentation.
\n\u00a0
\n6. Safety, Compliance & Work Standards<\/p>\n
\u2013 Follow all Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) requirements and SOPs.
\n\u2013 Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe, functional condition.
\n\u2013 Support continuous improvement of maintenance practices.
\n\u00a0
\n7. General Technical Support
\n\u2013 Perform basic electrical tasks within permissible limits.
\n\u2013 Support site preparations for installations and commissioning.
\n\u2013 Perform additional multi-skilled duties as required.<\/p>\n

Qualifications<\/p>\n
\u2013 Full Grade 12 Certificate.
\n\u2013 Craft\/Trade Certificate in Plumbing, Civil Construction, Water Operations, Welding & Metal Fabrication, or related field.
\n\u2013 Minimum 4 years of experience in civil works, plumbing, water systems, welding, or mechanical support.
\n\u2013 Ability to interpret technical drawings, plumbing schematics, civil layouts, and fabrication diagrams.
\n\u2013 Basic knowledge of hydraulics, material-handling equipment, and building infrastructure.
\n\u2013 Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
\n\u2013 Valid Driver\u2019s License (manual preferred).
\n\u2013 Registered or eligible for registration with the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ).
\n\u2013 Reliable, safety-oriented, disciplined, and able to work independently.
\nAdded Advantages
\n\u2013 Experience in industrial\/commercial facility maintenance.
\n\u2013 Familiarity with CMMS systems.
\n\u2013 Ability to support basic mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration tasks.
\n\u2013 Certifications in working at heights, confined spaces, or water treatment systems.<\/p>\n
