\nThe company invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced people to fill the Engineering roles on a permanent basis within the Manufacturing Function. The roles will reside in our world class Packaging and Warehouse (Twazabuka). The roles will sit off in the project environment and will transition to business as usual providing the selected candidates with a unique opportunity to be part of the project team, transition team and the Business-As-Usual team. The successful candidates will acquire expertise during project implementation and develop skills for managing the machines, maintenance, and plants. These positions will report to the Project Integration Manager during the current project build and transition phase.<\/p>\n
Instrumentation Engineer \u2013 Twazabuka
\nThe successful candidate will manage and oversee the instrumentation and automation scope of work for Twazabuka.
\nKey Responsibilities<\/p>\n
Manage the lifecycle of the instrumentation and automation scope of the project from the planning stage to execution and completion.
\nReview and develop instrument and automation systems to ensure that they meet the project and site specifications and standards. Review technical drawings and specifications for compliance and necessary standards.
\nCo-create the maintenance philosophy for the equipment to be installed at Twazabuka, annual plan, goals and KPIs, aligned to EAM; lock shutdown\/stop-day windows and acceptance criteria. Develop the necessary maintenance schedules and standards in the maintenance management system (SAP).
\nClient liaison with contractors, consultants and internal teams facilitating communications and coordination throughout the project.
\nPerform on-site inspections and provide technical support during the installation and implementation phase of the project.
\nDesign, install, and maintain instrumentation & control systems in accordance with Group standards i.e. sensors, transmitters, PLCs, SCADA.
\nPerform calibration and performance checks on all measuring devices in packing lines.
\nDevelop and update instrumentation schematics and documentation for validation & compliance.
\nDiagnose and rectify instrumentation faults to minimize process interruptions.
\nMonitor efficiency and effectiveness of electrical equipment by monitoring standards for setting, operating and maintaining equipment and ensuring instructions are adhered to and minimum standards embedded.
\nLead continuous improvement projects to enhance automation and data acquisition in packing operations.
\nManage the development of the maintenance, operating and capital budgets with the KPIs to achieve electrical optimisation.
\nEnsure electricity reticulation and electrical equipment is legally compliant.
\nDrive rigorous performance management by setting clear standards, KPI reviews and monitoring.
\nEstablish and coach a problem-solving culture for internal teams and vendors to ensure accountability for durable fixes and standards adherence.
\nLead cross-functional alignment to ensure plans, risk controls, and hand-backs are understood and executed across shifts.
\nOversee daily execution to achieve maintenance targets on safety, quality, schedule, budget and service level.
\nMaintain complete CMMS discipline and accurate BOMs, publish KPI dashboards and exception reports on cadence.
\nIdentify and stage off-crop\/stop-day work; ensure materials, permits\/LOTO, isolations, rigging, and commissioning systems are utilised.
\nMonitor and report KPIs and flag adverse and positive trends to the Finished Goods Manager.
\nConduct on-the-job training and identify new training needs where appropriate.
\nMonitor and manage team and individual performance daily against minimum standards and targets.
\nDrive reliability trade-offs using data, launching initiatives that maximise output and quality at lowest risk and cost.
\nRun governance to Group Risk & Assurance standards and maintain evidence of compliance.
\nEnsure maintenance reporting compliance to company procedures.
\nTrack capital projects against economic assumptions and deliverables; validate benefits realisation post-implementation.
\nPromote and enforce ABFS policies including SHERQ & Food Safety, Competition Law, and Anti-Bribery & Corruption (ABC).<\/p>\n
Qualifications and Experience<\/p>\n
Grade twelve certificate or equivalent
\nDegree in Electrical Engineering or B Tech in Electrical Engineering
\nMember of EIZ
\nMinimum 3\u20135 years in instrumentation maintenance for automated packing or processing plants
\nProficiency in PLC\/HMI programming & SCADA systems
\nFamiliarity with ABF systems would be an advantage (SAP)
\nQualifications verified by the Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA)<\/p>\n
