Built to\u00a0supply electricity to a rural area, it primarily powers Zengamina Mission Hospital and\u00a0surrounding communities through a mini grid interconnected with the National grid.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nZPL a subsidiary of Anzana, is seeking to employ a Construction Site Manager to support its upcoming generation expansion project. The project scope includes the installation of an additional 700kW Hydro-turbine within the existing powerhouse, the construction of a 1.44MWdc\/1.2MWac solar photovoltaic (PV) plant and associated 0.4\/33kV substation, and the upgrade of the existing hydropower plant\u2019s control systems performed by two contractors.<br \/>\nThe expansion of Zengamina Hydropower Plant and the installation of 1.2MWac PV plant is\u00a0the first step as part of a broader investment program of Anzana in Zambia.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nAbout the Role<br \/>\nThe position of Construction Site Manager consists of\u00a0\u00a0project management\u00a0and contracts\u00a0management with support from the Employer\u2019s off-site team and the Engineering Services\u00a0Consultant.\u00a0\u00a0Project Management tasks will include planning\/monitoring the schedule of\u00a0implementation, directing, coordinating, budgeting for project activities, and ensuring that the\u00a0project is constructed within the budget and schedule with high quality standards.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nThe Construction Site Manager jointly with the engineering services consultant will ensure that\u00a0the project is constructed as per the Employer\u2019s requirements and works are carried out to the\u00a0highest quality standards expected in the industry. The Construction Site Manager will be\u00a0expected to participate in design review meetings with the consultant and ensure proper\u00a0quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) measures are put in place.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nOn contract management, the Construction Site Manager with support from offsite employer\u2019s team and the engineering services consultant will implement the contract provisions for proper administration of the Contract.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nThe Construction Site Manager is also expected to create and sustain a strong culture of safety\u00a0at site with the help of the rest of the Employer\u2019s off-site personnel and those at site including\u00a0the contractors\u2019 Health and Safety Officers. The construction Site Manager will monitor the\u00a0construction activities and enforce strict adherence to the Environmental, health and safety\u00a0requirements as included in the Contract and the Environmental and Safety Management Plan\u00a0(ESMP).<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nThis is a site-based, hands-on role requiring the Construction Site Manager to be permanently\u00a0present on-site during construction activities. The position carries full day-to-day responsibility\u00a0for on-the-ground supervision of the Works, including direct oversight of contractors\u2019 activities,\u00a0coordination between different contractors and disciplines, and real-time resolution of\u00a0construction issues. The Construction Site Manager will act as the Employer\u2019s primary on-site representative, ensuring that works progress safely, efficiently, and in accordance with the\u00a0approved schedule, quality standards, and contractual requirements.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<br \/>\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities<br \/>\nThe Construction Site Manager will have full on-site responsibility for the day-to-day\u00a0supervision, coordination, and control of construction activities. The specific tasks will\u00a0include but are not limited to the following:<\/p>\n<p>Act as the Employer\u2019s primary on-site representative, with full responsibility for daily\u00a0oversight of all construction activities and the coordination of contractors,\u00a0subcontractors, and site personnel.<br \/>\nEnsure a continuous on-site presence during active construction periods, participate\u00a0and represent the Employer in daily construction meetings, proactively supervising\u00a0works to ensure compliance with approved designs, specifications, method\u00a0statements, schedules, quality standards, and contractual requirements.<br \/>\nDraft the necessary weekly report to management on the progress of the Works and\u00a0the performance of the Contractors in meeting their obligations pursuant to the\u00a0construction Contracts.<br \/>\nPlan, coordinate, organize and direct all activities relating to the construction and\u00a0management of the project including leading the Employer\u2019s staff at site.<br \/>\nClosely monitor daily progress of the Works against the approved programme,\u00a0identify deviations at an early stage, and take immediate corrective actions in\u00a0coordination with contractors and the Engineering Services Consultant.<br \/>\nCoordinate and manage interfaces between multiple contractors and disciplines on\u00a0site, ensuring efficient sequencing of works and avoidance of conflicts or delays.<br \/>\nReview and oversee contractors\u2019 daily activities, site organization, manpower\u00a0deployment, equipment mobilisation, and housekeeping to ensure efficient and safe\u00a0execution of the Works.<br \/>\nReview contractors\u2019 method statements and job safety analysis jointly with the\u00a0engineering services consultant to ensure works are carried out professionally and in\u00a0a safe manner.<br \/>\nIdentify and maintain a risk matrix and take action to avoid delays, cost increase and\u00a0or any compromise to the quality of the construction activities which may result from\u00a0the risks identified.<br \/>\nParticipate in project progress meetings and ensure minutes of meeting are recorded\u00a0and shared with all relevant stakeholders.<br \/>\nWork with the engineering services consultant to deal with all issues arising under\u00a0the terms of the Contracts, including all aspects regarding Claims, Variations and\u00a0Contract Price adjustments and advice the management accordingly.<br \/>\nWork jointly with the engineering services consultant to establish procedures to\u00a0review, monitor and coordinate the Contractors\u2019 design activities and method\u00a0statements to ensure that the Works are in conformity with the employer\u2019s\u00a0requirements and review \/approvals are obtained on time.<br \/>\nAct as employer\u2019s representative at site and manage employer\u2019s team and assets at\u00a0site.<br \/>\nEnforce strict compliance with Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) requirements\u00a0on site, actively promoting a strong safety culture and ensuring that the ESMP and\u00a0contractual HSE obligations are implemented at all times.<br \/>\nCoordinate daily with the Health and Safety Officer to ensure incidents, near misses,\u00a0and unsafe conditions are addressed immediately and corrective actions\u00a0implemented.<br \/>\nCoordinate the necessary inputs and interactions with other stakeholders, such as\u00a0the off taker (ZESCO), and their appointed representatives.<br \/>\nKeep a copy of all permits and licenses on site and maintain a record of the permits\u00a0provided, including expiry date (if any) and provide the necessary advance notice to\u00a0the management should a specific permit be about to expire\/require renewal. Collect\u00a0and provide the necessary background information to the management for the\u00a0application \/ renewal of a permit, such as accompanying drawings, etc.<br \/>\nJointly review the contractor\u2019s invoices and work with the engineering services\u00a0consultant to ensure interim payment certificates are processed as per Contract.<br \/>\nEnsure contractor\u2019s site diaries are signed and daily site photographic records are\u00a0kept.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<br \/>\nAdditional Responsibilities:<\/p>\n<p>Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor, contributing to the overall success of the Zengamina team and Anzana Operations<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<br \/>\nMinimum Requirements<\/p>\n<p>Bachelor\u2019s degree in civil engineering and EIZ Registration in the relevant discipline(s)<br \/>\nMinimum of 7 years of experience in Construction Management preferably in\u00a0Hydropower, Solar PV, Substation, Distribution and\/or Rural Electrification construction\u00a0projects.<br \/>\nExperience working with Owner\u2019s Engineer(s) \/ Engineer\u2019s Representative(s)<br \/>\nExposure to grid interconnection \/ utility coordination<br \/>\nStrong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively\u00a0with diverse stakeholders and community structures.
