\nWe are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on\u00a0Accountant\u00a0to join our dynamic team and take full responsibility for the financial management and compliance
\nKey Responsibilities:
\n1. Financial Management & Reporting
\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements.
\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Reconcile general ledger accounts and oversee month-end and year-end close processes Ensure compliance with internal policies and tax regulations.
\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Provide financial analysis and insight to management to support strategic decisions.
\n2. Cost & Revenue Accounting
\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Track and analyze operational costs (fuel, maintenance, transport, etc.).
\n3. Accounts Payable & Receivable Oversight
\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Supervise AP and AR functions, ensuring timely invoicing, collections, and payments.
\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Ensure vendor and customer account reconciliations are up to date.
\n4. Budgeting & Forecasting
\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Monitor budget performance and explain variances.
\n5. Tax & Regulatory Compliance
\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Ensure compliance with ZRA and other statutory bodies (e.g., NAPSA, NHIMA).
\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Prepare and file VAT, Withholding Tax, PAYE, and Income Tax returns.
\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Liaise with external auditors and tax authorities as needed.
\n6. Asset & Fleet Accounting
\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Maintain fixed asset register and ensure accurate depreciation
\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Work with operations team to reconcile performance with financial records.
\n7. Internal Controls & Risk Management
\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Develop and enforce internal controls to maximize financial integrity.
\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Identify areas for process improvement and risk mitigation.
\n8. Team Supervision
\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Oversee junior accountants and clerks.
\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Provide training and support to the finance team.
\nQualifications & Experience:
\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CA Zambia, ACCA, or equivalent is an advantage) and must be a member of ZICA.
\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar accounting role, preferably within the academic circles.
\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Strong knowledge of Zambian tax laws and statutory filing procedures (ZRA, NAPSA, NHIMA)
\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Proven ability to manage multi-entity accounting in a growing institution.
\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Proficient in any accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or Any account package)
\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Excellent attention to detail, integrity, analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0High level of integrity and attention to detail
\nAbility to work independently and in a fast-paced environment
