\nAbout the Role
\nThe Logistics Manager will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the company\u2019s logistics and distribution operations to ensure efficient movement of goods, inventory, and company assets across all operational hubs. The role ensures timely deliveries, proper inventory handling, transportation compliance, and cost-effective logistics planning while maintaining high standards of safety and operational efficiency.<\/p>\n
The Logistics Manager will supervise transportation activities, coordinate stock distribution, monitor logistics performance, manage third-party service providers where necessary, and ensure adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements. The role plays a critical part in minimizing operational delays, optimizing supply chain processes, and supporting business continuity.<\/p>\n
Key Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
Oversee day-to-day logistics operations, including transportation scheduling, stock movement, dispatch, delivery tracking, and documentation.<\/p>\n
Coordinate the movement and distribution of stock and company assets to various company hubs and operational sites.
\nDevelop and implement logistics strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and support operational goals.
\nMonitor inventory movement and collaborate with warehouse and operations teams to ensure stock accuracy and availability.
\nCoordinate with suppliers, transporters, and third-party logistics providers to ensure timely and cost-effective deliveries.
\nEnsure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and Zambian transportation regulations.
\nTrack, analyze, and report logistics performance indicators, transportation costs, fuel usage, and delivery timelines to identify areas for improvement.
\nIdentify and mitigate risks associated with logistics operations, including delays, stock losses, transportation breakdowns, and operational disruptions.
\nMaintain accurate logistics records, delivery schedules, transport documentation, and related reports.
\nMonitor drivers and logistics staff adherence to safety procedures and company policies.
\nUtilize logistics management systems and tracking tools to monitor shipments, vehicle movement, and operational efficiency.
\nCollaborate with internal departments to ensure smooth coordination of logistics and operational activities.
\nPerform any other duties assigned by management in line with the role.<\/p>\n
Requirements:<\/p>\n
Grade 12 Certificate.
\nDiploma or Degree in Transport and Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
\nMinimum of 3\u20135 years of experience in logistics management, supply chain operations, or related fields.
\nA valid Class C1 driver\u2019s license will be an added advantage.
\nProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
\nKnowledge of logistics management systems and GPS tracking systems.
\nKnowledge of Zambian transportation and logistics regulations.
\nStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills.
\nStrong leadership and multitasking abilities.
\nAbility to work with minimal supervision and under pressure.
\nAbility to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion<\/p>\n
