\nAbout the role:
\nOur client is seeking a highly connected and results-oriented Business Development Manager with deep networks in Zambian commercial banks. You will be responsible for identifying, developing, and closing strategic partnerships with banks and financial institutions.
\nKey Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
Banking Partnership Development
\nIdentify and acquire partnerships with key commercial banks in Zambia (e.g. Zanaco, Stanbic, Absa, FNB, AB Bank, ZICB, and others).
\nBuild and maintain high-level relationships with senior banking executives (Heads of Corporate Banking, Treasury, Digital Banking, and Fintech Partnerships).
\nDeal Negotiation & Closure
\nLead negotiations and close partnership agreements with banks.
\nManage the full deal process from initial engagement to contract signing.
\nStakeholder Management
\nCoordinate with internal teams and banks to complete due diligence and approvals.
\nProvide regular pipeline updates and reports to management.
\nMarket Intelligence
\nMonitor the banking and financial sector landscape, regulatory changes, and partnership opportunities.<\/p>\n
Required Qualifications & Experience<\/p>\n
Education
\nBachelor\u2019s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Banking or related field.
\nProfessional Experience
\nMinimum 5-10 years of experience in Zambian banking or financial services.
\nBackground in Corporate Banking, Commercial Banking, Enterprise Lending, Digital Banking, or Fintech Partnerships.
\nPrior experience working with or at major Zambian banks is strongly preferred.
\nNetworks & Resources (Critical)
\nStrong existing networks with decision-makers in Zambian banks at manager level and above.
\nProven ability to independently arrange meetings with senior banking executives.<\/p>\n
Skills & Competencies<\/p>\n
Excellent business development, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
\nStrong understanding of banking operations and funding structures.
\nAbility to prepare professional presentations and proposals.
\nFluency in written and spoken English.
\nSelf-motivated, target-driven, and able to work under pressure.
\nValid driver\u2019s license and willingness to travel within Lusaka.<\/p>\n
Compliance & Integrity<\/p>\n
High ethical standards and good understanding of banking regulations in Zambia.<\/p>\n
