The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is a body corporate established under the repealed Securities Act, Cap. 354 of the Laws of Zambia and whose existence is continued under the new Securities Act, No. 41 of 2016. SEC has the objective of inter alia regulating and developing the Zambian Capital Markets and is responsible for the supervision and development of the Capital Markets in Zambia as well as the licensing of financial intermediaries, collective investment schemes and securities exchanges, the registration of securities to be issued such as debt and equity instruments, and the authorization of transactions in entities registered with SEC.<\/p>\n

\nTo manage Internal Audit and Risk Management functions in order to ensure that effective internal controls are in place and adhered to in the utilisation of the Commission\u2019s resources.

Audit Planning
\nManage development and implementation of the annual audit plan.<\/p>\n
Audit Assignments
\nManage timely conduct of planned and special audit assignments.<\/p>\n
Compliance Audits
\nManage compliance audits to promote adherence to legislation and regulations.<\/p>\n
Systems and Performance Audits
\nManage systems and performance audits to assess effectiveness and achievement of objectives.<\/p>\n
Internal Audit Reports
\nManage timely production of internal audit and management reports.<\/p>\n
Secretariat Services
\nProvide Secretariat services to the Risk and Audit Committee.<\/p>\n
Audit Follow-Up
\nManage implementation review of agreed audit action plans.<\/p>\n
Risk Management Policy and Framework
\nManage development and review of the risk management policy and framework.<\/p>\n
Risk Management Coordination
\nCoordinate preparation and updating of institutional risk registers.<\/p>\n
Performance Management
\nManage work plans and implementation of the performance management system.<\/p>\n
Management and Resource Utilisation
\nManage effective utilisation of human, financial, and other resources.<\/p>\n
3.4 Required Competencies \/ Personal Qualities
\ni. Leadership and supervisory skills;ii. Strong analytical and numerical skills;iii. Excellent written and oral communication skills;iv. Computer literacy;v. High levels of integrity and confidentiality;vi. Strong interpersonal skills; andvii. Sound understanding of risk management and internal control systems.
\n3.5 Qualifications \/ Requirements
\n\u2022 Full Grade Twelve (12) School Certificate;\u2022 Bachelor of Accountancy Degree, Full ACCA or its equivalent; and\u2022 Membership of the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA)\u2022 All qualifications must be ZAQA verified.
\n3.6 Minimum Relevant Work Experience
\n\u2022 Minimum of six (6) years\u2019 relevant work experience in internal audit and\/or risk management.
