Coordinator, you will be responsible for ensuring Operational excellence through responsible environmental management by maintaining the implementation of the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System (EMS), monitoring compliance with Barrick environmental standards, and managing various site-wide environmental programs, including climate change strategy, data reporting, and regulatory compliance.<br \/>\nYour duties will include but are not limited to the following:<\/p>\n<p>Maintain and support an effective and certified ISO 14001 Environmental Management System (EMS) across Lumwana Mining Company operations and contractor activities.<br \/>\nEnsure alignment and compliance with Barrick Environmental Standards, including Incident Reporting, Investigations, and EMS Manual requirements.<br \/>\nAnalyse, interpret, and report environmental monitoring data using approved environmental data management platforms and reporting systems.<br \/>\nEnsure all environmental incidents, non-conformances, and observations are reported promptly, accurately logged into the appropriate systems, and effectively tracked through to close-out.<br \/>\nCoordinate the daily collection, validation, and upload of meteorological and environmental monitoring data into the site database.<br \/>\nConduct routine environmental inspections to identify environmental risks, verify legal and operational compliance, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.<br \/>\nPrepare, compile, and submit accurate environmental reports to both internal and external stakeholders within required timelines.<br \/>\nConduct environmental inspections, compliance assessments, and internal audits in accordance with company standards and regulatory requirements.<br \/>\nPerform ISO 14001:2015 internal audits for both Lumwana Mining Company operations and contractor activities.<br \/>\nMaintain accurate environmental documentation, records, and evidence demonstrating compliance with environmental obligations and permit conditions.<br \/>\nSupport internal and external environmental audits, inspections, and compliance verifications.<br \/>\nSupport the integration, enhancement, and continuous improvement of Environmental Management Systems within broader Health, Safety, Environment, and Operational frameworks.<br \/>\nIdentify opportunities to improve environmental performance and support the implementation of corrective and preventative actions.<br \/>\nPromote sustainable environmental practices and build environmental awareness among employees, contractors, and stakeholders.<br \/>\nFoster and promote a proactive environmental and safety culture across all operational areas.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<br \/>\nTo be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:<br \/>\n\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Full Grade 12 Certificate.\u00a0<br \/>\nBachelor\u2019s Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Hydrology, Chemistry, or a related discipline.<br \/>\nMinimum of two (2) years\u2019 post-qualification experience in environmental management, preferably within the mining or heavy industrial sector.<br \/>\nDemonstrated understanding and practical application of Environmental Management Systems (EMS), particularly ISO 14001 standards and compliance requirements.<br \/>\nSound knowledge of Zambian environmental legislation, mining regulations, and applicable regulatory compliance requirements.<br \/>\nStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities with a high level of attention to detail.<br \/>\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to effectively engage stakeholders at all organizational levels.<br \/>\nDemonstrated ability to work independently, manage priorities effectively, and drive environmental initiatives within a multidisciplinary team environment.<br \/>\nProficiency in Microsoft Office applications and environmental
