\nPosition Summary:
\nThe IT consultant will oversee the installation, maintenance, and security of computer systems, networks, and software. S\/He will act as the first point of contact for technical issues and help ensure that all IT infrastructure supports business goals.
\n1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0IT SYSTEMS MANAGEMENT, USER SUPPORT & HELPDESK (40%)<\/p>\n
Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, networks, and peripherals, ensuring systems are functional, secure, and up to date.
\nManage network infrastructure and internet connectivity.
\nProvide day-to-day technical support to staff, troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues in a timely manner.
\nAdminister email and collaboration platforms (e.g., Microsoft 365, Google Workspace).
\nTrain staff on IT systems, tools, cybersecurity awareness, and best practices.
\nMonitor system performance and ensure optimal uptime and reliability.<\/p>\n
2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0DATA MANAGEMENT, SECURITY & CYBERSECURITY (25%)<\/p>\n
Ensure data protection, backup, and recovery systems are in place, regularly tested, and functional.
\nMaintain secure access controls, user permissions, and authentication systems.
\nMonitor, detect, and respond to cybersecurity threats, including malware and phishing attacks.
\nImplement and maintain security tools such as antivirus, firewalls, and endpoint protection.
\nPromote staff awareness on data security and safe IT practices.<\/p>\n
3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0IT GOVERNANCE, COMPLIANCE & STRATEGY (15%)<\/p>\n
Support the development and implementation of the organization\u2019s IT strategy and digital transformation initiatives.
\nAdvise management on cost effective, scalable, and secure IT solutions.
\nEnsure IT systems comply with organizational, legal, and donor data protection requirements.
\nEnforce IT policies, procedures, and standards across the organization.
\nSupport internal and external audits by providing IT documentation, reports, and system records.
\nManage software licensing, subscriptions, and compliance with vendor agreements.<\/p>\n
4 PROCUREMENT, VENDOR & ASSET MANAGEMENT (10%)<\/p>\n
Support procurement of IT equipment, software, and services in line with organizational policies.
\nManage vendor relationships and ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
\nMaintain an up-to-date inventory of IT assets and oversee asset lifecycle management (allocation, maintenance, and disposal).<\/p>\n
5.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0RISK MANAGEMENT & BUSINESS CONTINUITY (10%)<\/p>\n
Identify, assess, and mitigate IT related risks; maintain and update the IT risk register.
\nDevelop, implement, and maintain IT disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
\nRegularly test backup systems and recovery procedures to ensure reliability and readiness.<\/p>\n

\nAs assigned by the Finance and Operations Manager.
\nTYPICAL TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
\nMinimum Required Qualifications:<\/p>\n
Bachelor\u2019s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.<\/p>\n
Experience:<\/p>\n
Minimum of 3\u20135 years\u2019 relevant experience in IT support or systems administration (NGO experience is an added advantage).
\nExperience with accounting\/ERP systems and cloud-based platforms is desirable.<\/p>\n
Skills and Knowledge:<\/p>\n
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
\nKnowledge of networking, cybersecurity, and systems administration.
\nProficiency in Microsoft Office, cloud systems, and database management.
\nAbility to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
\nStrong communication and interpersonal skills.
\nHigh level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.<\/p>\n
