A PRIVATE MINING & CONSTRUCTION COMPANY BASED IN NDOLA IS LOOKING FOR THE FOLLOWING:
\nLOWBED DRIVER
\nThe Role
\nThe Low Bed Truck Driver will be responsible for safely transporting oversized, overweight or heavy machinery (like excavators, bulldozers, and other mining equipment) to various sites. The Driver will be responsible for adhering to national road safety regulations, company policies, and client delivery requirements, while maintaining a high standard of professionalism and accountability.
\n\u00a0Responsibilities<\/p>\n
Operate a lowbed trailer to transport heavy equipment, machinery, and other assigned cargo
\nEnsure safe loading, securing, and offloading of cargo in accordance with safety standards.
\nConduct PDI and report mechanical issues to the Workshop\/Operations Manager.
\nMaintain accurate logbooks, delivery notes, and trip sheets as required by Zambian law and company policy.
\nAdhere to all road safety regulations and traffic laws, ensuring compliance with the Road Traffic and Safety Agency (RTSA) guidelines.
\nEnsure adherence to Dangerous Goods transportation standards when applicable.
\nReport incidents, delays, or operational concerns promptly to the Workshop\/Operations Manager.
\nMaintain cleanliness and good condition of the assigned truck at all times.
\nRepresent the company professionally when interacting with clients, law enforcement and the general public.<\/p>\n
Requirements<\/p>\n
Minimum of 5 years\u2019 proven experience driving heavy-duty trucks across Zambia
\nMust be at least 30 years old
\nMust be able to operate a lowbed trailer confidently and safely
\nExcellent driving skills and strong defensive driving awareness
\nLicences & Certifications
\nValid Zambian PSV Licence (appropriate class for heavy trucks)
\nValid Dangerous Cargo Certificate
\nMust present a clean criminal record obtained within the last 3 months
\nNo history of major traffic violations or accidents
\nMust be physically fit and able to meet the demands of long-distance driving
\nGood communication and problem-solving skills
\nAbility to work long hours, including weekends and public holidays when required
\nHigh level of reliability, integrity, and work discipline
\nSafety and security conscious
\nAbility to work independently and manage time effectively<\/p>\n
