At Cleanergy, they are working to make clean cooking energy accessible, affordable, and reliable. Across Zambia, many households and businesses still rely on charcoal and firewood, with significant impacts on health, cost, and the environment. The Head of Community Champions will lead sales, marketing, and community activation across multiple PimisaGas sites, driving access to LPG and Clean Cooking Solutions for households, schools, and small businesses.<br \/>\nThis role combines strategy, leadership, and purpose. You will build and lead dedicated community teams at each site, ensuring that every zone reaches its potential through strong local engagement, structured sales management, and consistent visibility.<br \/>\nThe Head of Community Champions will:<\/p>\n<p>Build and mentor site-based teams of field agents, ambassadors, and \u201cClean cooking champion.\u201d<br \/>\nAchieve 80% household penetration within each catchment area.<br \/>\nMaintain 98% customer retention through engagement and service excellence.<br \/>\nExpand sales across all Clean Cooking products \u2014 LPG, cooking oil, stoves, and accessories.<br \/>\nProvide weekly and monthly performance reports against set KPIs, ensuring data accuracy and actionable insights.<\/p>\n<p>Key Responsibilities:<br \/>\nA. Leadership &amp; Team Building<\/p>\n<p>Recruit, train, and manage community teams (field agents, ambassadors, demo leads) per site.<br \/>\nDefine roles, sales targets, and incentive structures for each zone.<br \/>\nBuild a performance culture rooted in teamwork, accountability, and social impact.<br \/>\nConduct weekly performance meetings and provide monthly reports comparing results to KPIs.<br \/>\nDevelop leaders within each zone who can independently run operations after training.<\/p>\n<p>B. Community Sales and Growth<\/p>\n<p>Lead execution of the Community Penetration Strategy to achieve 80% household coverage.<br \/>\nOversee sales of LPG, cooking oil, stoves, and accessories across multiple sites.<br \/>\nCustomise targets per zone using KoboToolbox household data and sales trends.<br \/>\nIdentify and develop institutional partnerships (churches, schools, restaurants, and councils) to expand clean cooking adoption.<\/p>\n<p>C. Marketing and Community Activation<\/p>\n<p>Implement the PimisaGas Community Activation Plan, including door-to-door outreach, cooking demos, gas parties, and clean cooking days.<br \/>\nEnsure branding consistency across all sites \u2014 signage, tuktuks, uniforms, and community events.<br \/>\nBuild relationships with local influencers and \u201cCooking Heroes\u201d to strengthen grassroots credibility.<\/p>\n<p>D. Data, Insights and Reporting<\/p>\n<p>Oversee use of KoboToolbox and POS data for mapping and penetration tracking, sales and tonnage per zone, product mix performance, and retention.<br \/>\nProduce weekly dashboards and monthly performance summaries aligned with defined KPIs.<br \/>\nPresent progress reports during management meetings, highlighting wins, risks, and actions.<br \/>\nWork with finance and carbon teams to align sales data with impact reporting.<\/p>\n<p>E. Digital and Customer Engagement<\/p>\n<p>Drive SMS and WhatsApp marketing campaigns across customer segments.<br \/>\nOversee ambassador-driven referral and loyalty programs.<br \/>\nCoordinate with social media agents to maintain site-level community engagement.<\/p>\n<p>Key Perfomance Indicators:<br \/>\n\u2022 Market Coverage: 100% of households mapped per zone using KoboToolbox.<br \/>\n\u2022 Penetration: \u226580% of households converted to LPG or clean cooking products.<br \/>\n\u2022 Retention: \u226598% monthly refill rate.<br \/>\n\u2022 Sales Volume (LPG): Zone-based tonnage target.<br \/>\n\u2022 Sales Volume (Other Products): Zone-based oil, stove, and accessory targets.<br \/>\n\u2022 Multi-Product Adoption: \u226580% of customers using two or more clean cooking products.<br \/>\n\u2022 Community Visibility: \u226515 branded touchpoints (shops, schools, etc.) per zone.<br \/>\n\u2022 Team Development: 100% of active sites staffed and trained.<br \/>\n\u2022 Reporting: Weekly and monthly KPI reports submitted accurately and on time.<br \/>\nSkills and Competencies:<\/p>\n<p>Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop field-based teams.<br \/>\nExcellent sales, negotiation, and community engagement abilities.<br \/>\nStrong understanding of grassroots marketing and customer acquisition strategies.<br \/>\nAbility to analyse data, track performance metrics, and generate actionable insights.<br \/>\nExperience managing community activations, outreach campaigns, and brand visibility initiatives.<br \/>\nStrong communication and relationship-building skills with stakeholders at community and institutional levels.<br \/>\nProficiency in digital engagement tools including WhatsApp campaigns, SMS marketing, and social media coordination.<br \/>\nHigh level of accountability, organisation, and problem-solving ability.<br \/>\nAbility to work in fast-paced and growth-oriented environments.<br \/>\nPassion for clean energy, sustainability, and community impact.<\/p>\n<p>Qualifications and Experience:<\/p>\n<p>Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, Development Studies, or a related field.<br \/>\nMinimum of 5 years\u2019 experience in sales, community engagement, field operations, or commercial leadership roles.<br \/>\nExperience managing distributed or field-based teams across multiple locations.<br \/>\nExperience in FMCG, energy, telecommunications, microfinance, or community-driven organisations will be an added advantage.<br \/>\nExperience working with performance targets, KPIs, and reporting systems.<br \/>\nFamiliarity with data collection and reporting tools such as KoboToolbox is an added advantage.<br \/>\nValid driver\u2019s license and willingness to travel regularly across sites.<\/p>\n<p>Compensation:<br \/>\nThe incumbent will receive a competitive salary commensurate with experience.<br \/>\nSharing is Caring!
