\nPurpose
\nThe Artisan, Electrician (Air Conditioning) will safely execute all the Environmental, Equipment maintenance work in Smelter Plant according to the prescribed standards ensuring the safety of self and others.
\nKey Responsibilities<\/p>\n
This position will be required to adhere to all relevant requirements, policies, procedures and legal regulations pertaining to health, safety, environment and quality, as well as finance, human resources, and any other regulations as required by the company and relevant to the level of the role and responsibilities of the function.
\nAssemble, install, test, and maintain all environmental equipment like Heating Ventilating and Air conditioning Equipment and\u00a0Pressurization\/Filtration\u00a0Units using hand tools and power tools.
\nDiagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
\nConnect wires to circuit breakers, control transformers, or other components.
\nInspect\u00a0HVAC\/Pressurization\/Filtration\u00a0Units systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
\nAdvise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
\nTest the system\u2019s and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
\nMaintain current ACU Technician\u2019s license or identification card to meet governmental regulations.
\nPlan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes.
\nDirect and train workers to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
\nPrepare sketches or follow blueprints to determine the location of wiring and equipment and to ensure conformance to building and safety codes
\nProvide training and development opportunities for all direct reports on an ongoing basis, with a particular focus on Zambian employees
\nOther duties as\u00a0 instructed by the HT Drive and Environmental Equipment Specialist.<\/p>\n
Qualifications and Experience<\/p>\n
Minimum of a Grade Ten (Grade 12)
\nCraft Certificate in HVAC\/RAC from recognized institution
\nAll qualification must be certified by Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA) at the point of application.
\nA minimum of 3 years relevant experience as a qualified HVAC Technician<\/p>\n
