Our client, an established multinational in the financial sector is seeking a highly skilled and visionary Chief Finance Officer (CFO) to lead the financial strategy and operations across three segments of the brand\u2019s operations, i.e the holding Company and two Subsidiaries.
\nThe CFO will be responsible for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial-related activities of the three segments including obligation for accounting, finance, treasury, forecasting, strategic planning, budgeting, investor relationships, compliance and private and institutional financing. This executive role demands a strategic thinker, expert communicator, and experienced leader dedicated to driving sustainable growth and financial excellence.
\nKey Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
Lead in formulation of financial and tax strategies and policies and ensure sound financial controls and compliance with the relevant laws and regulations.
\nOversee the monitoring and disbursement of fund to meet current or long term corporate objectives, capital request and corporate financing.
\nDevelop organization prospects by studying economic trends and revenue opportunities; projecting acquisition and expansion prospects; analyzing organization operations; identifying opportunities for improvement, cost reduction, and systems enhancement; accumulating capital to fund expansion.
\nMonitor financial performance by measuring and analyzing results; initiating corrective actions; and minimizing the impact of variances.
\nMaximize return on invested funds and achieve investment yield as may be agreed by the Board by identifying investment opportunities; maintaining relationships with the investment community.
\nAssess and interprets financial and investment information and oversee the development of financial models and activity-based financial analysis to provide a basis for investment decisions and business planning
\nManage financial and physical resources and recommends yearly budget for Board approval and prudently manage the Company\u2019s resources within those budget guidelines and regulations.
\nContribute to the achievement of Expense Ratio, ROC, Solvency and overall management expense within approved budget. Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the company\u2019s goals.
\nEnsure that all statutory requirements of the organisation are met including Withholding Payments, Income Tax, Goods and Services Tax, Insurance Premium Level and others.
\nPut in place measures to hedge against foreign exchange risks and interest rates exposures
\nReview financial transactions to monitor compliance with established internal policies and external regulatory requirements and evaluate risk exposure
\nOversee the company\u2019s transaction processing systems and implement operational best practices.
\nSupervise the issuance of financial information and report financial results to the Board of directors and other relevant stakeholders.
\nBuild and maintain relations with external auditor, investigate their findings and implement recommendations.
\nArranging debt and equity financing as well as monitoring cash balances and cash forecasts.
\nSupervise issuance of Balance Sheet Management Report \u2013 Asset-Liability Matching Balance
\nSheet; Duration; Currency and Credit. Solvency\u2013Balance Sheet; Capital Management
\nOversee strategy and operational issues at assigned Support Units to ensure achievement of organisational goals<\/p>\n
Requirements<\/p>\n
Bachelor\u2019s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
\nCPA, ACCA, CIMA are essential for this role.
\nMasters in Business Administration or Accounting is preferred
\nAt least 10 years of progressive finance leadership experience, including at least 4 years at CFO level or equivalent roles.
\nMembership with Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA) is required
\nSound knowledge in Portfolio Management
\nKnowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
\nGood working knowledge of the Long-term \/ Short-term Insurance Act
\nGood understanding of tax principles applicable to Insurance Companies
\nDetailed knowledge of the relevant accounting standard, specifically for Insurance Companies
\nKnowledge of Zambia Company Act and financial Reporting Standards
\nSound knowledge of IFRS reporting standards
\nA transformational leader with good financial and strategic planning skills
\nAbility to improve processes and deal with complex issues
\nShould be creative and have the ability to exercise sound judgment
\nHigh level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency
\nShould be result-oriented with a can do attitude.<\/p>\n
